This was a fun, interesting wine that over delivered vs. expectations. Deep color annd concentrated juice with interesting celery and black fruit nose. Subtle asparagus notes. That said, not super vegetal. Black fruit on the palate. Pretty cool to try something like this!

Big and bold, with an amazing nose. It is a masculine, sweet tobacco with notes of vanilla and leather. It has a beautiful black fruit, dark plum, clove and cocoa palate and a long, satisfying finish.

Beautiful wine! Makes up for the flawed bottle I opened a few weeks ago which was light and bright but lacking any character - strange considering this bottle. Last one was not corked either. This is luscious and has powerful red fruit on the palate with a rich mouth feel and hints of baking spice in the nose.

Really drinking well. Super enjoyable and strong - Syrah tannin as opposed to oak. Wish I had more. This is a strong masculine syrah that has matured nicely. Yum!

Drinking at peak - Really lovely Rutherford bench California Cabernet. The tannins are soft but holding it all together. Luscious secondary flavors, particularly sous bois.

Really delicate but clean and lovely for a wine so old! Very enjoyable. Bright and floral. Aeration brought out the tannin that has kept this alive and kicking.

This is fine and can be aged longer. Disagree with prior comment on bottle not showing well. A bit more of a rustic expression of cote-rôtie without perhaps the vibrancy you get when there's some viognier in there. This is 100% syrah terroir blond.

Decanted and consumed over close to 3 hours. Took 90 minutes to open properly. Elegant syrah with strong cherry and raisin notes. No olive or bacon. Big soft tannins mid-palate only show themselves at 2 hours. You really must decant and be patient to experience this sexy elegant syrah. No bricking on the rim, still youthful in color. Still life left here if you let it open!

Super concentrated viscous juice with smooth tannin, no heat, delicious! Would love to taste in another year or so. Really beautiful Cabernet that is a beautiful example of Cabernet

One luscious sexy motherfucker! The most amazing nose. Layers of complex carmelized sugars. Plum, forest floor, still structured tannins holding it all together. Soft and supple. Really drinking nicely now. Firing on multiple cylinders! Stoked it's drinking so nicely!

Complex herbal / fruity nose. Well integrated soft tannins with black fruit. Has aged nicely but may have retained a bit more power if consumed a year or two earlier. Really outstanding integration.

Don't hold any longer. Still drinking nicely. Lush, brambly fruit. Subtle liquorice, blueberry and blackberry notes. Supple tannins remain with only a hint of alcohol.

Drinking beautifully at the end of its life. Open 1.5 hrs and still together although loose structure. Incredibly soft and silky tannins, beautiful fruit, no oxidation and honey aromas. Paired nicely with pineapple pork belly!

Soft tannins, perfume notes of violet. After an hour open the nose was of mocha coffee grounds. Perhaps a little past it's peak without the force and power of a younger Saint-Joseph but a pleasure to consume
