Everything ToniTony said almost 8 years ago and then some!
Still holding beautifully on day 2.

Forest floor nose, dark color, very little amber, medium body, smooth in the mouth, some fine tannin, sweet finish. Delicious with air fried Masala Tandoori spiced Atlantic salmon. Obviously well stored bottle even though the cork was wet up to 2/3rds of length.

Dark purple. Straight forward cab bouquet and flavors, medium to full body, good fruit especially considering the vintage. Well integrated and ready now but tannins still noticeable in the finish. Will probably go another 10 years or more.

Low fill, leaking, crumbly cork - We drank because of the bottle condition. We didn't think it would last much longer, if still drinkable at all. Amazingly, it had all those great Rhone Syrah smells of mushrooms, forest floor, green olives and bacon fat with a hint of smoke, most of which came through on the finish as well but in the mouth it was bright blue fruit flavors! And there were still noticeable tannins!

Excellent fill, perfect cork. Slight amber at the edges. Medium body for a CdP, certainly at it's peak, a little bit of sediment, Drinking very nicely with turkey dinner. Fruity enough to seem sweet in the finish.

I meant to open the 2001 but accidently grabbed this one out of the cellar and had the cork pulled before I realized it. This was the most intense of the 6 bottles that I originally had. Almost painfully intense and certainly needed many more years of aging contrary to what others here have written. Again perfect cork and fill almost to the cork. The finish was a bit short but I expect that will elongate as this wine ages to near perfection. Now to find some more well stored bottles.

Nice medium to full bodied CVV Pinot with plenty of time left in it. Won't try again for another 5 years.

Dark purple-red. Tight nose. Youthful monster that might be mistaken for a So Cal Syrah. Not a good example of a Carneros Pinot. 14.5% alcohol!

Light pinkish red. Spicy nose. Light bodied with noticeable tannin. Some cherry, cotton candy strawberry flavors, starts to finish tart but then has some sweetness to counter the tannin. It certainly cut through the Alfredo sauce but not my favorite style.

90? Recently purchased from auction. Dense, dark purple, monster from the deep, like it was born yesterday. Has me wondering if it was mistakenly labeled - no one would fake this wine. Tons of tannin, very little residue. If this is the real thing, it's a 100 year wine. Dark fruit flavor but not showing any complexity. Did not decant. If you have one, I'd suggest you hold on to it or decant for a day. (Only bottle purchased)

Medium straw, diminished nose, medium weight, not much complexity or gerwuzy flavors, sweet finish. Will hold for a while but not likely to improve. (My wife's birth year, Happy Valentines!)

(Minor seepage - cork 1/2 wet, came out whole) Like an old Cote Rotie of this age but with a sweet finish. Slightly reduced nose mixed with a slight bit a barn yard, in a good Rhone way. Some amber. Medium bodied, round in the mouth with lots of green olive, plus bacon fat meatiness. Sweet finish a bit short hence not a higher score. Tannins seem subdued so most probably this wine has peaked but will probably last another 5 years. Went well with lamb chops slathered with a balsamic reduction sauce.

Allowed to come to 67 degrees (room temp) then P'n'P. Dark purple-black, not much aroma, monosyllable flavor, lots of sediment clinging to the bottle but still considerable tannin. Will this ever come around?

It is actually "Louis Kunde Founder's Reserve" - Sonoma Valley - Pleasant enough with Asian food but not very distinctive. Probably should have been consumed earlier. No ox or off flavors. Drink up.

Nice round old fashioned CA chard, with a fair amount of fruit, mostly apple but some citrus, not lean and austere like many chards today. Alc. 14.1% not that noticeable. Pleasant and enjoyable with Berbere Scampi Shrimp & Alfredo Pasta. Nice full finish without any bite. (On-line $16 deal!)

P'n'P - Aromas a bit closed at first but developing during the two hours of consumption to full blown burgundy barnyard notes. Light bodied but nice balance, sweet toward the end but still some tannin, mostly light flavors of strawberry and cherry. Good with salmon alfredo pasta as it cuts through the sauce. Will probably hold but not necessarily get better. Alc. 14.5% not as apparent as it would seem to be.

Well kept bottle, high fill, crumbly cork, but no seepage. Slight amber, but mostly deep purple. More like a fine aged Cote Rotie, a little reduction but mostly a very smoky aroma, some Rhone scents, medium to light bodied and very fruity for its age, mostly black cherry-berry, somewhat short finish tho but very good with lamb chops, even better with Italian sweet sausage ravioli with a roasted garlic red sauce. Probably won't get much better, tannins are almost completely resolved. Very nice.

There are no great wines, only great bottles or maybe this wine just needed time to age. On this occasion it was excellent, tasting more like a great aged Chateauneuf, maybe most similar to the 1981 Beaucastel in it's heyday without the barnyard nose. This was my only bottle purchased at auction. Probably will never see another bottle again.

Drinking very nicely now, although I remember it as nice and focused 8 years ago. Similar to what YAKI wrote but I don't think it will fade any time soon. Very nice with baked salmon. (1 bottle left)

I've been drinking through some 2004 Pinots in my cellar with the thinking that many may be past prime. Not so with the Dehlinger, Goldridge Vineyard, RRV, (93) last night, nor with this delightful wonder. Unfortunately, my one and only bottle and it was right up there with the best of the CA 2004's. This is no burgundy! No amber at all. Uplifting nose with some alcohol (14.6%) of black cherry & raspberry with a little forest floor was followed up by a big mouthful of mostly raspberry fruit, a little candied at the end, fading to medium forest floor finish. According to winemaker Eric Hickey, it was from hand-selected barrels from their best blocks. Purchased at auction about 4 years ago for under $20 --- what a steal! It matched well with Salmon and Alfredo pasta and had enough acid to clear my palate all though the meal..... BRAVO!

Perfectly apoint! But very little amber. I've had this cellared since original release. Still showing some fruit, wonderful nose, medium finish. All the flavors you'd expect from a nicely aged Ch d'P from this excellent vintage. While drinking very well now, it showed no signs of deterioration during the hour it was consumed. Went very well with Indian Rack of Lamb (Berrah Kebab) and the Ginger & Lime chicken.

P'n'P right out of cellar (60 degrees) Fully resolved tannins, but still dark, no amber & will probably plateau for years. Forest floor, meaty nose and maybe a hint of brett but not off-putting at all. Wonderful full body of dark fruit and a bit sweet. Nice 45+ second finish of oriental spices and forest floor that increasingly developed through the next 2 hours of drinking. Impeccably balanced and a joy to drink! Drink now thru 2025 possibly! 94+

Nose: Strawberry cotton candy
Flavors: Raspberry & candied strawberry, a little sweet oak showing at the finish, nicely balanced
Finish - Medium, a little heat showing

Perfect complement for Tandoori Salmon at Taste of the Himalayas, even stood up to the spicy Samosas with mint-cilantro sauce.... 6 hrs later, even better! Only bottle in cellar - Boo hoo.... but got it for only $25 for in a bin end sale this year! Yeah!

A wonderful example of the new style CA Pinot. Hugh nose of raspberry and strawberry which continues on the palate. Medium plus weight, medium long finish. Plenty of stuffing and tannin. Some heat. Will last at least 5 years maybe 10! Will it improve? Who knows.... it tastes so good right now there may be none left by that time!

Very fine Saint-Bris. Have had more than a dozen bottles over the past year. In each case: Nice slight notes of bell pepper and straw on the nose. Some similar flavors on the palate which diminish a bit after first tasting. Lemon and other fruit flavors with an almost Chablis like mineral finish. Quite a nice change from any other Sauvignon Blanc producing area.... for that matter, much better than other Saint-Bris that I have tasted.
Enough acidity to last opened for 2-3 days in the screw cap bottle in the refrigerator.

Special bottling supposedly only available at the Chateau (circa 1992). Slightly oxidized but very nice considering its age. Medium straw color. Some caramel and butterscotch on the nose, also slight vanilla notes. Some lemon and fruity chardonnay notes in the mid palate with a nice blend of vanilla and older oak flavors in the finish. Drink up!

Had open for about two hours with dinner. It started out very dusty in the nose but after a few minutes was showing some fruit and a bit of green olive. Light on the palate with a short finish. Still holding but doubtful to get much better. This wine was very closed and hard on release and remained so for more than 10 years. One bottle left.

If you like old Cortons, this wine is for you..... lots of toasted nuts, a bit of lemon in the mid-palate, some mineral flavors in the finish. Toasted nutty quality continued throughout. Was opened at 'The Californian' restaurant in Huntington Beach for about 2 hours until the bottle was finished. Just kept getting better! (Was excellent with the truffle flavored French fries)

89? Some cherry/berry fruit on the nose giving way to mostly earthy smells, medium-heavy palate with some cherry fruit but mostly overwhelmed by earthy flavors that continued through a medium length finish, Off bottle? Brett problem? Reserving final judgment until after tasting at least another bottle.

Classic CdP nose, smoky bacon fat, green olive and raspberries --- Except this is a Cote du Rhone! - last bottle of the case, has been yummy since the beginning - wish I had another case at the $18 release price... raspberry medium weight palate, just delicious with braised leg of lamb. Medium-long finish that begs you to drink more. Too bad the subsequent vintages were not as interesting.

Monster overripe nose dark fruits with some minor ethyl acetate, typical overripe Coturri fruit that tastes more like a dry late harvest Zin, except the Coturri Zins are even more concentrated, some Pinot cherry/raspberry fruit peeks through, medium heavy weight, favors continuing through medium finish. This style will not appeal to most Pinot fans but goes well with bar-b-que.
