Nicely aged, light but has substance, smooth tannins, mellow fruit of the stewed variety, good balance, nice sipping, interestingly no sediment, drank with pizza with sausage, mushrooms, spinach, crust made with organic Utah oo flour, last bottle, I thought 2007 in Piedmont was a good year when they came out and this wine has developed beautifully.

Garnet in color. Nose of plums, violets, and dark cherries with hint of leather. Taste of dark cherries, plums, menthol, and hint of tobacco. Lovely fruit and nice balance with pronounced acidity. Probably drinking at its peak but this window should last 3-6 years.

Very nice. Deep color, dark crimson, minimal sediment. Expressive bouquet, wood shavings, leather, black tea, dark fruits reaching through. Nice mouthfeel, tarry black cherry, cocoa hints of Orange rind with a tannic bite on the finish. Good if a bit modern, and perhaps lacking a few layers, but a fine value.

Pop and pour. Generous notes of red fruit on the nose and palate along with some secondary earthy notes. Silky texture and very enjoyable. Good combo of a classic producer in a warm vintage. I'm guessing this is in early maturity and will continue to drink well for 10 or 20 more years.

Pnp, could have used an hour decant as it became more open half way thru our meal. Nice soft fruit profile. Definitely some secondaries there too. All in a good way. Acidity helped it as a good pairing with light Italian fare. Still lots of structure here with edgy tannins still notable. Seems to have lotso life left.

Purchased in a supermarket a few years ago at a pretty good price point. Been sitting in the cellar for a few years and worth the wait. Decanted and left for three hours. Deep musky nose and beautiful Barolo flavour. Deep, floral and very good with food. Lots going on. Bargain.

Pretty simple on the nose, but fine volume and length on the palate. Ample, yet not lush; balanced, yet not tense. A very competent bargain Barolo to be drunk from now until the better crus of this early maturing vintage hit peak in 3 -5 years.

Mature looking at the rim. Classic Barolo aromatic bouquet of forest floor, decaying rose, liquorice, tar, underlying sour cherry. All reflected in a refined palate with fine balancing acidity and gentle but firm tannin and length. Very enjoyable.

Tasted immediately, decanted for 30 minutes and consumed over two hours; in retrospect I should have decanted for 2 hours before serving; medium-brick color; closed nose at first, it eventually showed savory and earthy notes with bitter cherry and dark cherry predominating; big rough tannins that did soften somewhat after 1+ hour but nevertheless are too prominent and lead to a wine that lacks harmony.

Italian night with friends: 3 hour decant. Lots of bricking color mixed in with the soft red hues. Rose petals and raspberries on the nose. Dark sour cherry, herbs, good depth and complexity on the finish. The tannic structure is in a good place, and not at all overbearing.

Popped and slow ox'd for around 45 mins. Medium garnet color with hints of brick. Nose of red cherry, a bit of black tea, licorice and balsamic. Similar flavors on the palate with dark cherry and roasted plum flavors, licorice and a bit of toasted oak. High acid and tannins but drinking well, especially with food. Moderate finish. Solid barolo for the price paid.

After a disappointing previous experience, this second and last bottle is going into the beef stew. A small sample (not decanted but intermittently swirled in the glass for a couple of hours) does not seem to represent any noticeable improvement. It may be OK in a few years, but I am not going to bother find out: I stand by the decision to designate it for cooking. At present the wine is tight and comes across as unbalanced (even considering the tender age) and despite an initially promising nose, it does not deliver. I'd rate it 82 now with the potential to reach 86 if kept sufficiently long (say 2019+). I doubt it very much if this is ever going to be a balanced and elegant wine.

Great nose with bright fruit and subtle licorice and forrest floor notes. Big drying tannins still, but the expressive, vivid fruit balances the overall package. Interesting secondary notes emerge over time and add to the enjoyment over the long finish.

Medium bodied, sour cherry and cranberry palate. Grippy, gritty tannins, just as would be expected from a young Barolo but this is enjoyable from the start. The chalky, drying finish has medium+ intensity and with good length.

Decanted, sampled over 3.5 hours. Closed in the first hour. It is borderline approachable after 2-3 hours of breathing, with food (Beef stew 'peposo'). Still very dusty texture! Drank alongside the 2004 (the 2007 got extra 30 min breathing time). 3/4 guests preferred the more mature 2004. Both vintages need more time. Once the dust settles this could be a very good wine. It is more balanced on the second evening. It is just a baby; give it extra 4-7 years.
BTW, the cork was 1/3 soaked. I was wondering if this one will have a shorter life as a result of this. I imagine it was standing on the supermarket shelf for a few months.

Pretty tight at this point. It's either closed down or just never comin around. Red fruits, nice structure but really tough at this point. I don't get any floral notes which is disappointing. My other bottle will sleep for at least 3 years and we'll see where it goes. I wouldn't open 'me if you have 'em at this point. YMMV.

Decanted for about an hour. Dark garnet color. Aromatically challenged on the nose with hints of dried cherry and black tea in the background. Tart red fruit flavors on the palate with some dried cherry and menthol along with some oak flavors on the back end. Medium+ acidity and tannins with a very dry and somewhat short finish. I will chalk this up to being too young perhaps and will give the remaining bottle a few more years but I have had better 07 barolos so far.

90 minutes in decanter, consumed over the following 2 hours. While not a complete as a Cru wine might be, this is nonetheless an excellent effort. Considering the price, this is crazy good. A very good effort, notwithstanding the limitations of the vintage. highly recommended, drink thru 2018

consistent with the other bottle opened on the same night, this is drinking nicely with just 2 hours in decanter. The finish begins to tire at the 4 hour (after opening) mark. Best for short-mid term cellaring. Drink thru 2018

Good to go with just two hours aeration in decanter. Pretty aromatics give way to a nicely textured, classically styled Barolo that makes no pretenses regarding what's in the bottle. Pure, well lifted, with an above-average finish and more complexity than the price-point would suggest. Well composed. recommended, drink thru 2019

Excellent value Barolo. Still very young, but showing all the familiar Barolo characteristics of cherry, floral perfume and leather and herbs on the nose. Excellent tannins and grip, gorgeous mid palate and length. Real class. Prefer this to the 04 and 06 as the only other two vintages tasted (albeit without notes so from memory!). Beautifully balanced finish.

Tasted during Nebbiolo Prima, and again, during the following two weeks. One of the more approachable new-release Barolo that I can recall from this producer in the past decade. Wonderful typicity on the nose, with ample fruits framed by very focused, elegant tannins. no new oak here, thankfully, which really keeps the fruit front and center, as it should be. Shows structure for short to mid-term cellaring, but honestly, this is so approachable and enjoyable now, I don't see my case lasting but a few years, at most. Maybe I should buy 2 cases...Drink thru 2021.
