Gorgeous showing tonight - this wine is absolutely at peak, still fresh and fruit-driven, with notes of raspberry liqueur, black cherry, fennel, balsam, and cocoa. It has such a seamless, silky texture, great purity, and a little touch of RS. Totally elegant and self-possessed CDP, one of the best I have tasted in a long time, (including the 2019 and 2020 Senechaux.) This bottle I acquired from Benchmark must have been very well-kept.

More earthy than my last tasting. Apparent iodine and a lot more earthy notes this time. More dried cherry notes present, too. Tannins are fairly well resolved and my sense from this bottle is that we are just slightly over the peak here. Still a bracing acidity persists. Bone dry with lovely medium body.
Very enjoyable.

Took about 90 minutes in the decanter to come out and play. Rich garnet color. Originally poured at about 60 F, but had probably heated up to mid-60s after 90 minutes. Smokey dark fruit on the nose with olive and earthy notes. Sweet blackberry fruit, white pepper, mushroom on the palate. Medium-bodied. Acidity and alcohol are well-integrated at this point. Long lingering, very slightly drying finish. Still has several years ahead.

Dark ruby color; loamy black fruit nose. Beautifully integrated, smooth with nary a rough edge. The sweetly dark black fruit on the mid palate is wonderfully knitted with rich savory notes of mushroom and earth on the back end. Lots of meaty umami lingers on the finish.
This wine continues to punch above its weight. Initially bought based on a 95 point Robert Parker review that was impressively spot on. Sad to say, it’s my last bottle of what has been a deeply rewarding case purchase.

Pristinely cellared, this bottle was decanted off of its sediment and serially tasted over three hours. A blend of 56% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre and 2% Vaccarèse/Cinsault, it is a deep garnet elixir that delivers an aromatic profile of blackberries, Bing cherries, spice cake, Provençal herbs and bramble leaf. Medium-bodied, lightly oaked and with soft residual tannins, it delivers flavors mirroring the nose and keeps its 15% alcohol in check (when served at 60-65°F). Layered on the mid-palate and long on the back end, this mature Châteauneuf is showing beautifully. Comparably cellared bottles should reach their fifteenth birthday with grace. Give it an hour of air at this stage if possible. Drink now-2025.

14.5% alcohol.G 56%, S 22%, Mrvd 20%, the remaining 2% between Vaccarése and Cinsault. Very good cork with little wine penetration except along a short fault line. Pretty dark with some fading at the edge of the rim. The nose is rich but not overdone, with dark berries and nothing cooked. The mouth is slightly behind, with good acidity but a slightly bland feel. Not very long. Probably not a repeat purchase, not that there is much wrong with this bottle, but there are many other Southern Rhône wines that I prefer.

Pinkish-burgundy: medium bodied but still a vibrancy to the colour. Spiced chocolate on the nose - more at first but even though it diminishes, it remains distinct - with black pepper, mixed berries (summer fruit pudding, perhaps); a slight metallic edge to the nose; over time the aromas become more peppery and perhaps more herby too. Velvety fruit in the mouth. Some still distinct tannins increase the sense of velvet - it's like stroking some good quality fabric. Soft black fruits, a little taste of mature cheese and definite milk chocolate. There's a spice that sustains - at times it brings to mind chilli chocolate. Very, very nice.

Fully mature now, spot on, amazing taste and superb long and buzzing finish. If the nose was a bit more flavourful and the finish less alcoholic, then it would be a perfect score.

Served blind. Somewhat murky purple mulberry colored “Obviously CdP?” In a minority opinion I feel this is starting to show some advanced age in color and flavors. Showing a bit of heat (15%) which I didn’t notice as much in its youth. I felt this to be much more enjoyable 5 years ago, but as I said, I’m in the minority opinion on CT as well as my own table who found this delightful and full of bright kirsch flavors. Definite YFS

Purchased upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this bottle was decanted off of its substantial sediment and serially tasted over several hours. A deep ruby blend of 56% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre and 2% Vaccarèse/Cinsault, it delivers a gorgeous package of blackberries, Bing cherries, spice cake, Provençal herbs and bramble leaf. Medium-bodied, softly oaked and with silky tannins, it delivers its flavors without any intrusion from its 15% alcohol (when served at the appropriate temperature). Dense and layered on the mid-palate and finishing long, this has developed into something quite special. Since last being tasted in 2012, it has gained complexity and length. Comparably-cellared bottles should show well for several more years. Drink now-2025.

Another impressive bottle. Rich and silky, with ripe red and dark fruit and some mineral notes, and fresh and lively. Great now, but should be fine for a while.
Extreme inky black color. Currant, candied blackberry nose. Rich, nuanced, deep sweet black fruit palate. Tannins have softened. This wine is peaking.,really wonderful!

Solid. Beautiful fresh bing cherry aromas on the palate with hints of earth. The palate has more bing cherries with nice acidity on a long finish. This is on point and while it will last, it is ready to drink. While you can feel the alcohol, it is well integrated and does not detract from the wine. Very enjoyable.

Excellent bottle. Dark red color with a fragrant bouquet. Ripe dark fruit, rich and concentrated (but not thick and jammy), a bit of spice, silky texture, and sufficient acidity. Not particularly complex, but balanced and very enjoyable. In the prime zone and should stay there for a little while.

14.5% alcohol. G 60%, S 20%, Mrvd 20%. Good long cork with no wine penetration except at one point where the bottling machine damaged the cork. Medium colour with some thinning at the edge. The nose is somewhat muted, but engaging nevertheless, with dark fruit and a high note of sour cherries. The mouth is in a similar vein, with some liquorice added, and great acidity in the finish. Not the most substantial or the most complete of CNdP, but a fairly good one nevertheless. Would not pay more than 25€ for it though.

Nice floral notes soaring from the glass, no hint of potent alcohol to come. 95 pts on the nose. Still plenty of tannins but approachable. Dark chocolate and underbrush. Good acidity level. Heat at finish with ABV in excess of 14.5%.

Similar to previous bottle 3 months ago. Clean floral nose, very nice. Pack a punch on the palate, rich & fruity. Notes of raisins & Cognac. Sadly also comes with heat at finish. Too high alcohol.

Good nose, floral and clean. Fine tannins and vibrant acidity. Rich and long finish with heat at backend. Could have been really good without the high alcohol of modern CDP.

Fantastic nose, arrays of floral notes hit you on the face. No longer so imposing in term of tannins, decent acidity, long with heat at finish. As my palate changes, I no longer enjoy wines with high alcohol and pretty sure this one is 15% and above. Better on the nose than on the palate. One to go with hearty foods to take the alcohol off. Pizza or burger?

I remember thinking that this CDP was very non-CDP-esque when tasting it. I really just think this one needs to sit for another 5 years before opening another bottle. This wine seems to have more of the lusciousness that a modern grenache would have. Just didn't have the complexity that a traditional CDP should have, likely due to its youth. This one has a LOTTA FRUIT, and a very tannic finish. I was actually taken back by the amount that it DID have, and although I wasn't turned off by the wine, I would have NEVER guessed this was a CDP if tasted blind. This was the first wine from this producer that I have ever tried, so perhaps this *IS* the style for this producer.

Took about 4 days open to reach its full stride. Opaque with an inch pour. Aromatic violets, blackberry, and plum. The sip is juicy, tannic, and fruity, and adds black raspberry. The swallow highlights the drying tannin. One of the most delicious wines and a top contender for the best with food.

Not bad, but a little flat even after a healthy decant. Classic peppery flavors typical of CDP with a good bit of edge left to tannins. I feel like this one may have been opened a little too soon. Good change of pace to the Italian wines I've been drinking lately.

From 375 ml. Got bored drinking red Burgundy and German Riesling, time for a change of palate. Similar to the last bottle few months ago, plenty of tannins and acidity but approachable after aeration. Floral nose. Massive wine with reasonably good balance other than some heat at finish. This should have long drinking window ahead but ideally should wait for another 2 to 3 years at least. Somehow I crave for a hearty ribeye steak with this wine, maybe medium rare.

A seamless blend of dark plum, black fig and cherry. Smooth, with a little heat from the alcohol: at 15%, high but not unusual for a CdP. Very enjoyable; we'll finish it tonight, to see how it evolved.

Deep focused nose, cooked fruit, brambles, blueberries, chocolate, liquorice, orange peel and smoke. Velvety mouth-filling texture on the palate, spicy and deep layers of fruit. Excellent balance and length. Big and complex, evolved a lot in the glass. Needs at least a few hours of air before showing its true quality. Supple to drink now, a lot of potential left for further aging.

Good nose from onset. Big wine with plenty of tannins but approachable with 30 mins of aeration. Vibrant acidity, decent balance other than some heat at finish from high alcohol of the vintage. Pretty fun to drink after months of not touching any CDP. Entertaining, CDP is a good distraction from my regular Burgundy and Bordeaux. I just wish they would dial down the alcohol level to below 13.5%.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape tasting at home. This has shed a little bit of its baby fat since last time. Still a pretty massive wine, but with great freshness. Darker ruby color with a touch of purple. Explosive nose of dark fruits, sweet kirsch,/cherries, provencal herbs, tobacco, licorice, leather, cedar wood and some sweet spices. Full-bodied and powerful, with medium+ acidity and medium+ sweet tannin. Very good length. A rich, massive and long Châteauneuf-du-Pape that is more fruitbombish in style, but with excellent balance.

Extremely dark, almost blackberry color; roast meat on the nose. Beautiful sweet fruit on the fore palate. It could be my imagination, but syrah character shines through. Lots of tannins. Greatly improved by a two hour decant. This wine is a the equivalent of a middle-schooler, and will need a few more years to come into its own.

Still very young, needed its time in the decanter. But boy, what a nice wine it turned out to be. Not a big nose, but it makes up for that on the palette. Fruity, heavy buttery cassis. Amazingly seductive. Peppery. Strong tannins. I have two more bottles and will wait at least 3 to 4 years before I touch those.

Dark red with no black. Enters the mouth with a burst of red raspberry that is quickly followed by drying tannins. Fairly smooth texture that should get better with more age. The aftertaste combines both delicious fruit and firm tannins. Goes well many foods, including turkey meatballs. Overall, has a very enjoyable balance.

Halvflaska luftad ca 2 timmar före servering. Härligt fruktig CNDP full av ungdomlig energi. Kraftfulla inbjudande aromer direkt ur glaset.

Pop and pour, and followed 2 small glasses over about 2 hours. It started out with lip-smacking red fruit and little else. Over time, the garrigue earth started to come out. This tasted like a quality wine and I would like to try it again in 5-10 years.

Popped and poured and drank over 3 days. This was wonderful. There is a nice balance of fruit and the expected CdP flavors of pepper, oregano along with the sensory impression you get when hiking the Sonoran dessert. Great finish and a wine for talking over life's mysteries. I am sure this will evolve over the next couple of years, but it is fabulous now. I expect the fruit will take a back seat over the next couple of years so why wait?

Tasted blind. Flowery nose. Was able to discern the tannic sour taste of Mourvèdre. Also picked up the hints of pepper and spice from the Shiraz. Very GSM, but was tricked into thinking it was a New World version of GSM, maybe because this was tasted so young. Would definitely do well with some age.

Powerful and quite tannic, even after aerating it for over 4 hours in the bottle. Young, bold, spicy flavours, with lots of black and dark fruits. A bit too harsh on the palate at the moment perhaps due to its age, though overall, it was a good wine. Style was quite new world though it didn't taste like a typical wine, exotic(?) flavours. Unique floral(?) nose. Better to keep this a few more years!

Surprisingly dark ruby color for CdP, with a touch of purple. Intense nose of dark fruits, kirsch,/cherries, provencal herbs, some tobacco, licorice and sweet spices. Full-bodied, medium-acidity and massive but sweet tannins. On the palate, there are also additional meaty flavors, but still tons of sweet fruit and spices. This is a rich, massive and long Châteauneuf-du-Pape but with a nice structure to keep everything together. If some more complexity develops, it might deserve an even higher rating. I absolutely love it!

This wine was tasted in unblinded fashion at the Vintage Wines, Ltd. wine bar. The robe is opaque crimson and the nose shows moderately intense aromas of vanilla, ripe blackberries and cocoa. Full-bodied on the palate, with low-to-medium acidity, big sweet tannins, well-integrated alcohol and ripe black fruit and mineral flavors. The solid middle palate leads to a medium-length, fairly smooth finish. While very nice, this Châteauneuf (at this point) does not show a broad enough olfactory spectrum to warrant an outstanding score. However, I would not be surprised if this changes for the better with some time in the bottle. Drink now-12/22.

Perfect cork. 1mm penetration. Black ruby clear juice. Decanted off of fine grain sediment.
Nose is cocoa, black cherry, cherry kirschwasser and a touch of vanilla.
Palate confirming nose and adding oak, slight bitterness, juicy front of palate and a sprinkle of black pepper and marjoram.
Finish is slightly tannic and pleasant after the slight bitterness has faded. Lingering lemon and granite.
May just be waking up again. Can't wait for day two.

Very jammy, blackberry, some marmalade, laurel, dried fruits, some burnt notes, quite long finish.
Drink now or hold !

Halvflaska luftad ca 2 timmar före servering. Härligt fruktig CNDP full av ungdomlig energi. Kraftfulla inbjudande aromer direkt ur glaset.

A bit too harsh on the palate at the moment perhaps due to its age, though overall, it was a good wine. Style was quite new world though it didn't taste like a typical wine, exotic(?) flavours.
