A pronounced nose of maple and floral. I get the yeasty effervescence and the color is light peach. This is a mouthful of delicious champagne and the note below nailed it. I find that this is a delicate champagne and does not pair well with food so drink it by itself. If all champagne tastes like this, I would drink more

Champagne tasting Lunch. Excellent showing. Ripe and rich nose with flowers, red berries, bakery, bruised apples, orange peel, complex. You could feel the Cote de Bar sun in the glass as this was fruitier, richer but not as oxidative as the older bottles. Definitely for the table and not the apero.

A great nose of honey and maple with some intoxicating floral components. It swirls around in the mouth with crisp pears and lots of effervescent, bright acidity. It’s almost worth the price
A seriously powerful style of champagne. Big and boisterous with plenty of brioche and rising bread dough notes to compete with intense fruit. Has plenty of years to go. My bottle was disgorged in June 2012.

Jean Louis Chave Hermitage Tasting (Wine Watch, Fort Lauderdale, Florida): A nice start to the Chave tasting. Not a blockbuster, but good complexity on the nose and palate. Citrus aromas and flavors, along with honey and brioche. Crisp acidity, but not biting or harsh, that contributed to its persistent finish. Appeared quite young.

Showing consistently to other bottles with bread, yeast, citrus, oyster shell, weight on the palate and tight bubbles and a great we to start off a wonderful dinner.

Among the richest, most expansive and weighty Champagnes I have tasted. Tremendous depth of fruit flavors and mineral depth. An excellent start to a delightful wine evening shared with friends. Thank you Bajayngo. 93-94.

My friend Bajayngo brought this to a tasting. A beautiful Champagne! Citrus, shell, chalk, brioche, piercing acid, elegant mousse...the whole package. Appealing depth and complexity, generous, palate-cleansing finish of considerable length.

barmy on the palate, some dried green apples, bread, still young, but intense and fresh, very elegant, with some air more balanced, long+ finish, would wait at least 3+ years for the next one, *(**- +), 89-91+?

Pale gold, good mousse. Nicely perfumed coconut overtones, brioche, sweet apple fruit. Medium bodied, butter-covered peach and cream. Clean finish with good integration, fine balance. Not the most expressive of Charlies but it's very attractive in a laid back, refined style.

From a tumbler, so not ideal. Excessive pressure upon opening - possible due to rough transportation the day before (my fault). Mid lemon colour, plentiful, slow-rising bead. Good, fairly rich flavour. Apple and bready notes. A definite vintage taste. Quite bitter, possibly due to youth. Not distinctive, but not bad. This seems an unusually low price. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Oddbins, £42].

Visit to Champagne Drappier in Urville (Urville): Nose: Ripe yellow and red apples, cocoa powder, some spice, slightly flowery. Palate: Mineral, yellow apple, citrus, rather high acidity, fresh impression, slightly spicy, good aftertaste, foody style. Summary: Some hot vintage character. Rather young, 91(+) p More mineral than the 2006 Exception, but slightly similar in the nose.

The colour and nose give away immediately that this champagne is a vintage release, and a very good one at that.
The wine is a golden yellow in colour with a brioche and caramel scented nose that is made in an ever so oxidative style.
There is a fine bead in the glass, the palate shows peach skins, a bit of blue cheese funk, with the wines richness tempered by taught acid, and the finish lingers with brioche goodness. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink from 2013-2015)

Amazing ripe pineapple. Toasted almond. Peaches and cream. Honey like vescosity. Vanilla finish. At an amazing point of it's life.
