My last bottle and I think it drank the best out of all of them. At times I’ve thought this was too modern and simple, and perhaps some of that is the vintage. This one was pretty easy to drink with a meatball sandwich.

Much improved on the 2010. Dark and inky with bramble nose. Lovely bit of tannin on the palate with the Cabernet fruit very noticeable. Unlike the 2010 this is not overly ripe and fruity, but almost velvety with good balance.

Inky purple/tawny, medium full body, mild aromas of dark fruit, taste of cassis and dark fruit, medium complexity/finish, good value "argentinian" italian tuscan.

Very nice Super Tuscan. Aging gracefully. Tannins smoothing out. Good food wine. Wish I had bought a few more when it was available and on sale. Recommended. Still has potential. Drinking well now.

This is back to the same score as my first bottle where I also gave it a 92. My second bottle must have been at a time when the wine was dormant. Nice fruit and very well balanced. Not the acid bomb like a lot of the wines from this region.

- Brick color with medium forming legs and aromas of cloves and dusty. It's unbalanced and has flavours of dusty with a medium body. Linear texture with a medium finish - Slight tannins

Excellent rapport QP pour ce super-toscan sérieux et profond. À ce prix, me semble un vin de garde avec beaucoup de potentiel même s'il est déjà fort bon.

I am not sure what the blend is here but there seems to be some Cabernet or Merlot as it is the wine is a little plush, with some tobacco shadings. Dark fruited, medium acid, light/medium tannin. I liked it but Ann was neutral on it. I think there is some upside potential.

From Magnum- Great party wine! Quite BIG, very sweet, very balanced and full of fruit, spice, fresh wood....has enough grip and sugar to qualify as more of a drink alone wine instead of a food wine. Great QPR! Would not hold more than 2 years, it may lose some of the charm.

La Massa 2011 Toscana (SRP $25): This is a savory and satisfying blend composed of 60% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the remaining made up from Merlot and Alicante Bouschet. Dark garnet in color, this wine offers poised blue and purple berry fruit aromas and flavors intertwined with drying minerals, crushed bay leaf, and muted notes of sweet tobacco leaf. The palate is medium to full in body, with an appealing liveliness and freshness to it, underscored by relaxed tannins, a supple texture, and a solid core of acidity that sails through to the pleasing, lingering finish. Overall, a delightful, budget-friendly wine that's well-balanced and harmonious with all of its flavors seamlessly integrated. This wine is a nice solitary sipper, though its food-partnering acidity is sure to shine at the dinner table. Region: Tuscany, Italy. (Other info: ABV 14%, cork enclosure).
Super Tuscans (Caros Wines, Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand): Dense purple-ruby. Herbal and mineral notes alongside an unmistakeable "Tuscan Tang". Reasonable balance and intensity. Easy to enjoy with a generous mouthfeel and a nice tobacco and vanilla finish. Good value for its pedigree.

good, but... i dont know. balanced, but.... hmmm. i guess nothing truly stands out as it never gave one of those 'wow' moments. for a taste around hour 1 some raspberry came forth.. but then subsided. quite balanced, though, and still itself after 4 hours.

Big wine with plenty of alcohol and tannins. Nicely balanced. This has the potential to age very well and I would be surprised to see a score of 94-95 in the future. Fruit is hidden a little under the alcohol but there is plenty of blackberries, vanilla and cassis. Medium to long finish.

Inky in color, nose of vines, alcohol, oak and floral blueberries. Medium light tannin. Rich and full (think California Cab) and builds up in intensity in the mouth. dark fruit opening up to wood, oak and clove. Long finish with hints of licorice.

A very nice wine for under $20. Nice dark fruit/berry flavors, currants perhaps mixed with some plum. Well balanced and even slightly voluptuous. Stands on it's own very well and also works great with a hearty meal.
