Single-varietal champagnes: Placed the vintage correctly with the ripe and vibrant fruit that was typical of 2002s, but thought it was a BdB as the acidity was quite prominent still. In a good spot where the developed honeyed fruit and acidity are just about in balance, would suggest to drink this soon before it becomes more oxidative and loses its vivacity. Unanimous favourite of the night including mine.

SAC: 2002 Retrospective: First champagne of the night and of the original five the one that I went back to at the end to see if I really did like it as much as I thought or if it was just the benefit of being the first glass of champagne in my glass in the evening. This is good. It's more of that pear/apple style where it's a touch lighter and the orchard fruits and clean in style. But really drinking quite well. Something to keep an eye out for in the future. Changed the way I see this producer.

big expectations for this blanc des noirs cellared since 2014. Nice bubbles, golden yellow in the glass, nose of aromatic scents. At the palate the aromatic component is confirmed, a little bit lacking expected minerality. Just a little below expectations although well crafted. Paired with a squid soupe, after a long ride to Adda and its power plants

Wow! This is wide open with baked pear, pie crust, light smoke, nuts, marzipan, white chocolate, orange peel and a certain slightly medicinal character. On the palate also intense and rich in the same style as on the nose but not lackning in energy or elegance. It has that impossible balance that so many of the very best wines display, showing both incredible intensity and superior elegance. Fine mousse, ultra dry finish that comes almost as a surprise after the initial fireworks.
Very complex, well on its way to maturity. One of the more evolved 2002's I've had, but all the more delicious because of it. Great, great wine!
With some time in the glass i get ripe lemons, dough, wet stone and hints of grass and pine perhaps. And some white peppery feel. Red apple juice in the mouth. Concentrated and looong. Still feels the dosage creates some disconnect on the mid to late, although it is definitely coming together. However not at the pace I had been expecting. I am starting to realise that I should have held on these bottles for longer. Next bottle in 5+ years. 92p

A bitter note disappeared after 6 - 10 minutes in the glass. Really nice mousse and great depth. Quite vinous. In fact when tasted from vinum pinot it drank like a wine. From veritas champagne is was much fresher and mousse more vivid. Better complexity and balance on the palate than previous bottle 3 months ago. Nose is super fine. 92-93p

Bought a case after tasting this mid-2014. Only 89p at the time, but the depth of the fruit, fine backbone and hearty dosage I felt this could be one for the long haul. Checked in today and at first it showed surprising level of development on the nose - quite funky. Palate was not as rich as expected, mid palate felt a bit thin and acidity levels out of tune. Nose freshened up considerably with 20-30 minutes and palate broadened out, but it never really got to the point that I expected. Perhaps not an optimal bottle. Pleasant drinking but nothing special really. 89-90.

Another fine bottle of this wine with a bright color, fine bead and a lovely nose of red apples, strawberry and redcurrants The palate reprises the fruit character with added touches of nougat and honey leading to a fine finish with real poise. A fine Blanc de Noirs.

This needs at least 5 years, if not 10. Very young, intense pinot fruit. Rich, creamy, buttery, slight bready wonderfully aromatic nose. Strong fruit flavors, very primary, almost painfully intense. This is great now, but will be fantastic when it mellows and gets mature notes in a few years.

Deep clear yellow colour with fine bead. Delicious nose of red apples, redcurrant, strawberry, and nectarine. Palate complex with the same fruit nuances with nougat and honey highlights. Lots of Champagne: Very fruity, typical red apple of PN, anise candy. Steely on the palate. Requires time to open up in the glass, excellent development. Becomes even more fruity and sweet.

This was a big change after a few days of blanc de blancs. Much deeper in tone with a lot less vivacity. It was enjoyable as a mellow sipper for a glass or two but didn't have enough personality to hold my interest. This could have passed for any basic commercial brand.

100% Pinot Noir. Medium gold colour with a very fine mousse. The bubbles recede noticeably after 20 minutes in the glass. Wonderful nose of lemon peel, toast, and a hint of peach. The palate is medium to full bodied with a rich and creamy mouthfeel and a very ripe expression that comes across almost as sweet (when in fact it is very dry at 6g/l of dosage). Flavours of honey and almonds are supported by a minerally streak and just a hint of spice. The wine seems to take on weight in the glass as its bubbles recede and makes it an ideal pairing for food. As it evolves in the glass you appreciate just how complex this is. Delicious now, this possesses the stuffing for additional development in the cellar. www.advinetures.ca

Ved åpning litt sjenert på duft, men intensiteten øker med litt tid i glasset. Modne gule epler og noen søtlige toner av bakverk og lys honning. Hint av jord. Både en tanke rustikk og elegant på samme tid. Bra konsentrasjon, flott friskhet, men kunne godt hatt enda mer trøkk i frukten. Den stopper liksom litt opp før finishen setter i gang. Fin lengde med mineralsk nerve og honning på smak. Ingen tvil om at dette er bra vin, men jeg hadde litt høyere forhåpninger. Usikker på lagringspotensialet her.

A nose with golden yellow apples, nuts and almonds, chops, light oxidative tones and a hint of alcohol. Almost nu bubbles at all. Very fresh, despite low acidity, fine ripe red apples, sweet lemon zest, honey, some pepper and a hint of oxidation. A finish with a slight bitterness and a pepper notes that stay quite longs.
