Nose: ripe cherry, game, hoisin sauce, strawberry, nutty Notes: this is an amazing wine with loads of potential. Although this is probably not the right time to drink now, I can sense immense intensity and harmony in the wine. The wine is currently very thick and dense on the nose but the palate is quite delightful. The greatest wines are capable of integrating all these contradicting flavors which in fact is what makes wines so interesting. I'm certain that this will be wonderful in 15 years time but I don't think we can draw a conclusion on this wine at all today. Drink: 2038+ Rating: 93+

Glorious spice akin to 96 but lacking the burnt quality, and fruit of course more youthful and exuberant. Greatly enjoyed this in the way that I find myself also enjoying some 17 grand cru, a precocious vintage that brings a lot to the table. Surely capable of long term development, but tempting to drink in the short term nonetheless.

I seldom write here (this bottle actually motivated me to start sharing notes..) but we treated ourselves with this tonight. Slightly disappointed to be honest. Its a tough vintage but such a climate and producer need to deliver (aside from the price point…). The wine didn’t show the depth (especially the mid palate) that was expected. It was super good yes, silky yes, but not grand. Too introvert as my wife rightfully said. Tough
Blind. Lett å havne å Chambolle her. Varer i minutter. Wow.

Last minute add to the line up. Pop/Pour (on purpose). Gorgeous red berries. Medium structure with body on the light side. The lightness of it is striking knowing it's a Musigny, but seems to reflect the producer style. Fun bottle to try.

Big Burg Energy: Served double blind. Bright red fruit, plenty of spice, and some moderate richness. Showing well. Color led me to believe it was about a decade younger. Delicious, but blind, I preferred the two Rousseaus (whew, at least I got that right). A really great wine, just got outclassed, but I happily revisited a few glasses of this throughout the evening. Really well made.

Lavendar, rose petal, potpourri, and candied fruit. Very dense and firm palate with plenty of stuffing. It might need just a little more time to fully reveal its potential, but it is still an approachable Musigny to drink young

Five winos excellent adventure , mostly in Burgundy; 6/7/2019-6/15/2019 (Beaune, France): Beautifully perfumed nose displaying subtle pure black fruit, blackberry liqueur, black cherry, rose and lavender, clove, cinnamon and limestone. Very sensual palate, so finely layered subtle pure black fruit, exceptional finesse, energy and precision, perfect amount of acidity, medium mineral, and a seamless long subtle black fruit driven finish with cinnamon and rose at the end. This will be the next Musigny release. Drinking magnificently already.

BORGOGNA 2015; 2/22/2015-3/22/2015: Barrel Tasting at the domaine. Meno corpo rispetto al Bonnes Mares, ma più ampio nei profumi, più aereo. Acidità , spina minerale e tante spezie amare. Setosità regale. Vino pazzesco. 94-96

Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Visit and Tasting (Mostly) 2013 and 2012 (Chambolle-Musigny): Barrel tasting at the domaine, this has completed ML. Superbly elegant. Red and black fruit with medium level of concentration for Musigny, but good spice from start-to-finish. Picks up weight in middle and end. Starts nice, finished great. TN based on a single barrel, so might not accurately represent the final blend.

Musigny (Shanghai): 09/11/13. Lifted purple fruit, dark berries, meaty, orange spice, more classically Mugnier. Still way too young. 93+
