Medium high acidity, buttery, Malo, lemon curd. Medium light toasted oak. Very good wine that is a little less vibrant than a younger wine but not over the hill. A little thin but still substantive.

High summer pour. Chilled. Oaky nose and steely composition, not a very sweet offering this time, more in the oaky, citrus, quince category. Gaining a little depth and body with air and warmth, will update more. Under vac-u-vin and consumed through 8/13, steely notes chilled - quince, lemon chiffon, buttery oak. Sharp, delineated, good acid.

WineBid bottle, PnP, from .375. This chardonnay was absolutely singing tonight. Mature bouquet and all its fat has been replaced with tropical delights. Nose of toasted hazelnut, coconut milk, papaya, and grilled pineapple. The texture is supple, still with enough acidity to achieve good balance. The wine is at apogee, drink over the next 1-2 years.

Paired this with a salmon dish which should have gone well - I thought this One Sixteen was a bit too oaky. I'm not fond of the big CA oak chardonnay. Definitely has some good citrus notes which saved it for me from being over the top with oak.

Has not really moved since last bottle with slightly more defined tropical character with hints of passionfruit, mango and orange zest adding depth on more classic buttery, smoky and lemony profile. This remains fresh and really balanced. I dig those kind of CA chardonnay.

When you think of kosta Browne you think world class Pinot! A few years ago they started producing Chardonnay. This is the second vintage and my first time drinking it. The wine pours a beautiful deep gold. On the nose you get subtle Apple, pear notes that are not overwhelming. On the palate, the apple notes become more pronounced with the pear lingering on the finish. The finish lingers nicely allowing you to enjoy the wine complexity that much more. Another great wine from these guys!

Nice bottle of domestic chardonnay. Opened for Thanksgiving dinner for Ann. Drank over three days. The wine didn't show any sign of aging over that time. The style of the wine is definitely new world. Layers of up-front fruit. Nice amount of acidity. On day one it seemed to have more oak but it phased out over time. Expensive bottle but good for special occasions.

Popped and poured. More apple than oak and butter but the butter starts to move up as the wine warms up. I prefer the heavy butter and oak flavor in my Chardonnay. Let a good pour sit over night and the flavors changed into a more intense, buttery flavor. Really liked that.

PnP chilled. Clear, bright med straw. Clean, bold and fruity nose. Full body and flavor. Strong acid, profile of tart green apples, touch of oak/vanilla, lemon. Clean, sharp finish. Classic big CA Chard. Paired w/ bacon wrapped scallops and mussels. Balanced and integrated but will hold easily yet for years. Nothing off. $69
What makes this Chardonnay so delicious are the multiple flavors you get with each sip. Lemon peel, gala apple and wet stone dominate the overall mouthfeel but you also get other secondary flavors such as apricot and butterscotch on the finish. This is very well made and balanced. You must drink a room temperature to fully enjoy the complexity of this wine.

Popped and poured, consumed on a bright sunny 80 degree day on East Beach in Galveston, Texas over 2 hours. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, meyer lemon, apricot, pear, with undertones of licorice and wet stone. Palate: Medium bodied, wonderful creamy mouth-feel - truly outstanding, sweet pear and apricot attack, persistent mid-palate density, minerals join in the back-end balancing out the sweet fruit. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by pears, apricots and minerals.

Pop and pour and served with food (initially some cheeses, and then a seared scallop over quinoa with a beurre blanc sauce, in case you were wondering). At first, this showed a wonderful melon, lemon zest and green apple flavor. Crisp and enticing. After time, it lost some flavor and became a bit thin. That changed with food. Having a little bit of food brought this to a higher level. Good acidity, nice green apple and a light apricot note.

This is a tough wine. I opened like when you order in a restaurant. It was such a disappointment - lacks in acidity, unbalanced, over oaked. Talking about flavors are no relevant when have the issues i mentioned. 30 minutes later is is much batter as balance starts to come around, some bright fruit comes forward. Net, NEVER order this in a restaurant but might buy to drink later after proper opening. There are so many better Chardonnays why put with this. I sense the winemaker makes Chardonnay the same way he or she makes Pinot. Sorry to post this as have three allocations and know "all the above" at the winery. Let's see if my allocations get cut off.'
Extremely bright and bracing with energetic acidity and citrus notes. Nice application of oak without being heavy handed. Some underlying nuttiness of almond or hazelnut variety. Uplifting and racy initially but settles in to deliver a great drinking experience.

Tremendous Chard. I keep expecting a butter oak bomb from the KB Chard's, but they surprise me with their balance. A clean fruit streak, a bit of minerality and great balance. More full bodied than a Burgundy, but not because of over the top oak.

RRV and Napa Visit; 7/7/2014-8/30/2014 (Napa and Sonoma): Like Highway 116. Deeper tones to the aromas. Cumin in the air, but that’s actually from chef and not the wine itself. Butter to the nose. Ripe tree fruit palate. Oak and spice on the palate. Quite the finish. Wonderful finish. Browner barrel tones to the nose. Lemon cream on the palate. Candied lemon peel. As the Chardonnay opens up the oak and spice settle down.

Nice emerging style of Chardonnay from KB with nice citrus-driven flavors and taut acidity. This is fairly crisp and racy and not over eating or heavy-handed. Deft application of oak leads to a extremely pleasurable drinking experience.

I love how KB is doing this chardonnay. For sure, there's richness with not too heavy salted butter, pear, orange/lime zest and light oak. But, they manage to keep it fresh with good acidity and some interesting saline notes. Very Meursault-like, this can be drink or hold.

This is a very impressive wine. Walks a razor's edge with an impressive amount of fruit, but remains nicely balanced with good acid. Good complexity and a lengthy finish. Not for everyone, but a terrific example of a well-balanced, high-end California Chardonnay that emphasizes floral, citrus, and tropical flavors rather than butter and oak.

Tasted a few months back at the Sonoma Wine tasting event. I remember liking this but not being overwhelmed. But now.... I'm loving it! (Not a McDonald's reference.) The last glass from bottle was best so if I had some, I'd hold for at least a few more months to a year before opening. Tropical fruit along with fresh lemon, finish had a caramel/toffee note. Not a subtle wine but sometimes that's fine by me. Thanks to Ted for sharing.

Not what I expected. If you are a fan of buttery Cal. Chard. - this is NOT it. Lightness and mouth feel seemed more sauv. blanc than chardonnay. Not much nose - even after an hour of air. Nothing bad about the flavor or blend - just very airy. My first taste of KB Chard - only Pinot allocation til now. Perhaps 6 - 12 months in bottle will fill it out ??? It's only been in the bottle for 20 weeks.

Popped and poured, then finished the next night. Aroma is minerals, along with a nice balance of lemon. The taste is more of a lime than lemon, but the minerals are prominent to balance it out. There is also a bit of richness to this that hits on the mid-palate and a little viscosity to it. This is a really nice white - makes me wish I was outside drinking it.

Effusive wine with white peach, pear, pineapple balanced with minerality on the mid-palate and finish. A full-bodied wine with a creamy texture and lots of layers. Drinks great now but will be better in 2 to 3 years.

My impression was banana split....vanilla ice cream, nuts and bananas. If I want a treat, this'll be high on the list.

Nice new worldean style chard with tropical n less so citrus notes. Got better as night wore on. Good balance even in this big style. Lots of life and years ahead. Wish we had more in cellar.

Pear tart and bananas on the nose, full bodied light vanilla on the palate. Very supple with medium acid. A bit early to drink but will be perfect in another year.

Tastes more like a Sauvignon Blanc than a Chardonnay. Pronounced lemon-citrus flavor which I didn't care for. My daughter liked it though.

Tasted at the pickup day. Enjoyed this with fish tacos. On the riper side of chard but with nice acidic balance. Bright yellow fruits. Had viscosity but not too heavy. Will please both the ipob and aubert fans. Drink now or hold for a bit.
