This is drinking great right now. The wine is very complex and shifts flavor as it opens up. I get melon and pineapple on the fruit side, and a lovely nuttiness to balance it out. It was a real shapeshifter and I can't wait to revisit more vintages of this wine.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! I loved this wine when I tasted it and bought it at their tasting room several years ago and I love it even more now. When I initially bought the wine, I knew that I wanted to hold on to it for a few years before opening it. There was something about it that spoke to me and said this wine would be even more interesting with some age on it. Boy, I'm glad my hunch was right.

My wife normally hates anything Sauv. Blanc, so I was surprised when she said "I really like this". She thinks it tastes French. IDK, maybe. To me it just comes across as an extremely, hard to pin down blend. Call me crazy, but I think the melange invokes a bit of tropical. Some of the notes others have mentioned blend together for me in a way that evokes hints of pineapple and a light bit of coconut.
I wouldn't pull this out for visitors if I wasn't sure they were a tad adventurous or open minded. That said, I really enjoy this.
I look forward to pairing a future bottle with a thai curry that's not overly spicy but features a bit of coconut in the broth.

Trying this again years later and it’s become a super interesting aged Bordeaux Blanc blend, dry grass, cat pee, butterscotch, corn tortilla, roasted nuts, but nothing overwhelming. Lean, but not super acidic. Long finish with a ton of staying power. Really enjoyed the complexity.
I’ve often heard people say that ages Semillions are some of their favorite wines and I can see why.

Beautiful wine pop and pour. Old world, old vines, new memory. Close the eyes and it feels like your in Bordeaux. The finish seems to last as long as the sunset. Just enough lime acidity to gracefully carry the honeysuckle, minerals, and a touch of caramel with exotic fruits. One of those wines where you emit an involuntary sigh when seeing the bottom of the bottle.

Comprised of the oldest Semillon plantings left in the country (from Monte Rosso), barrel fermented in a combination of new Stockinger barrels and older barrique in a range of sizes and Sauvignon Blanc from Judge and Uboldi Vineyards. The nose shows high intensity in the aromas of orange marmalade, lime, quince, honeysuckle and elderflower, sea breeze and minerals with hints of lemongrass and green melon. The palate is unctuous with a fleshy texture and juicy acids. Flavors are full and display notes of marmalade, quince, lime zest, and lychee, white flowers, rock and minerals. The finish lingers with the warmth of the abv.
Exceptional imitation of a Bordeaux white. Good one step beyond its historical home with a juicier concentration of fruit and fuller body. Not cheap but excellent.

Up there with the best Sauvignon Blancs coming from California. The Semillon plays a major role in the oily texture of this wine. Lemon grass notes plays a nice supporting role. Wonderful aromatics. Layers upon layers of complexity. This wine can age another five years easily. Great juice!

Perhaps the best white Bedrock I've yet tasted. Honeydew melon, almonds, lychee, balsa, bergamot, echoes of grapefruit and nectarine. Viscous and round but not flabby or heavy, and emphasizing the Semillon today. 93+. While some overt sweetness on palate could stand to be aged into greater complexity and tension, the beguiling power of the floral and white fruit aromas are compelling right now.

Figs, walnuts, honey suckle, dry autumn leaves on the nose. Unctuous on the palate with a dry fruit density, firm acid frame, and a crisp bitter lift at the back, moving into a long fruit-driven aromatic finish. Lovely aperitif wine on a hot Arizona evening.

I enjoyed this much more with another year of bottle age. I also picked a dish that I thought would go with the flavor profile. I think additional age will help it. It does taste like semillon with a waxy feel.

Don't find too many white blends coming out of CA like this. The nose is loaded with interesting floral notes along with citrus rind. On the tongue, a somewhat waxy texture carries mouth watering acidity to the back and top of the mouth. The Sauv Blanc comes thru more in the Napa style, grassy rather than grapefruit, a slight hint of honey, meyer lemon pith and a medium long finish.

Medium straw color. Aromas of hazelnuts, vanilla, baking spice, and a hint of baked peaches and apricots. Powerful and robust. Flavors of orange marmalade and white flowers stand out. You can taste the alcohol on the finish but its needed to balance with the structure of the wine. As for texture, a little fat marries nicely with balanced oak. Complexities show as it warms. I thought best consumed at cellar temperature. The concentration from semillon vines planted in the late 1800s frames a stellar homage to Bordeaux - this from one our most talented young winemakers stateside.

Monte Rosso vineyard might very well be the "To Kalon" of Sonoma county. Famous for red, but apparently there's a small block of Semillion there. Add in a touch of Sauvignon Blanc and you got one knockout bombshell vino! MASSIVE aromatics, flowers, fruit and a bit of alcohol. Palate combines that tropical fruit of the Sauvignon and creamy citrus of the Semillion into this Meyer lemon meringue with good body and a great finish. I usually wait a bit longer to open my first bottle of this wine, but couldn't resist to see how the 2015 turned out. A little different than prior iterations, maybe just the youthfulness, and I apologize that this won't be helpful to others, but sometimes trying to craft a tasting note belittles the fact its just a brilliant wine to drink. A favorite album or beach is just that - perfect for what it is and how it makes you feel - and this wine is consistently that experience for me. Cant wait to see where it will be down the road because the Karatas only gets better with age.

Popped and poured, consumed over 2 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, star fruit, lemon, saline, wet rocks and hints of freshly cut grass. Palate: Medium-full bodied, creamy mouth-feel, tart green apple and melon attack, a nice acidic kick joins the up front flavors through the mid-palate providing harmony and balance through the back-end. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by minerals, melon, and green apple.

Well... I thought I was going to age this, but I couldn't resist this with a rich pasta dish. Plump and juicy, with peach, cream, lemons and tangerine. Beautiful acidity and balance. The oak treatment adds mouthfeel without overt lumber notes. I need to get more and store it away.

A lovely SB that leans more towards the plumper, richer Chard-like style than the leaner, grassy, herbal side. The oak influence is noticeable but not overdone; I suspect this needs some cellar time to integrate better. For all the richness, this is incredibly light and airy, with fine crisp acids. Great now, but I will try to age this a bit. UPDATE: On day 2, this showed a bit more SB character, with some hay and herb notes detected. Wonderful balance and body.

Very nice wine. This is deep and rich, which I don't often say about white wines. It's a great blend of two grapes: the oldest semillon in the US, and Sauvignon Blanc.
On the nose: pineapple, melon, wet rock and some citrus. Flavors of melon, cantaloupe and stone fruit. Things are integrated nicely and layered and compelling.
The group really enjoyed this!

Melon, crabapple, nectarine, white flowers, freshly cut grass, and some vegetal notes. round in palate, but with nice acidic cut. a bit flabby late on the midpalate, but that does lead into a nice round finish that goes longer than I expected.

Brilliant light yellow color.
Nose full of enticing melon fruit aromas.
In the mouth, medium body with outstanding balance of softness and acidity. Complex flavors merge into a delicious, outstanding white wine.
Worked well as a glass before dinner, and really shown when the shrimp dinner was ready. This semillion sauvignon blanc blend is always welcome in my glass.
Will buy more if we can find it!

Unconscious, layered and magical. Everything is in the right place. It is hard to believe how Morgan Twain Peterson is just as good with the white Boudreaux blend as he is with Zinfandel. Great juice!

Peach, white flowers, pineapple, some oak. Rich, but delightful semillon. Lots of character.

Tropical fruit but with a medium mouthfeel. Nice acidity and minerality too.

Good nose of citrus, pineapple and also got the hints of wet rock. Good acidity on the tongue with a medium finish. Very enjoyable wine.

Cool bottle that clearly needs more time and was a mistake to drink now. Nice melon, cream, big mouthfeel.

Nose: pineapple, white flowers, mustard, honey, this is real complex. Taste: minerals, mustard, Very textured mouthfeel but with crisp acidity cutting through. Finish is forever with grip Over the top style but real well done.

Well... I thought I was going to age this, but I couldn't resist this with a rich pasta dish. Plump and juicy, with peach, cream, lemons and tangerine. Beautiful acidity and balance. The oak treatment adds mouthfeel without overt lumber notes. I need to get more and store it away.

Crisp. Tasty. Melon/pear. Plenty of minerals/acid. Chris said to let this one age a decade or more to see it at its prime.

Fantastic with food. Grass/hay and citrus -- light lemon and some grapefruit on the nose. Grapefruit continues on the palate, plus a little tropical fruit as well.
