Not a complex or overpowering wine, but an elegant and easy-drinking Merlot that is aging well and should pair well with a good range of dishes. We enjoyed it with prime rib roast for Christmas dinner as a second bottle after finishing off a 20 year old premium Cab, yet it did not embarrass itself in the comparison.

Very enjoyable wine. It has some nice fruit and unique oak flavor. Seemed a little over manipulated by the oak which made it kind of unique at first but the more you drink it , it becomes a little overbearing.

Medium Purple. Dark cherry, oak, toffee, and minerality. Dark fruit, toffee, and s hint of blueberry on the palate. Reasonable structure and round tannins, considering the cost. Quaffable!

PNP. Deep ruby color. Simultaneously earthy and fruit forward. Smooth palate and round tannins on the medium finish. Not quite as good as the CS, but still very quaffable and a great QPR.

Drank this over two nights and really was impressed with the quality of the fruit. I don’t think there are a lot of wines better at $15. If it had less vanilla I’d score it even higher.

Clear, medium ruby; clean medium nose of vanilla and black fruit; dry; medium body; medium acidity; medium tannins; pfn with some heat and cocoa; medium finish; easy drinking, but not memorable; better alternatives exist for the price point

Tobacco and stewed dark fruits on the nose. Medium to full body with firm, slightly gritty tannins right out of the bottle. Wine improved a bit after an hour or so and was better with food.

14.5% alcohol, light to medium foil, appears to be real cork, medium to long legs, dark garnet; nose of fruit & alcohol, tasted at ca 14 degrees Celsius, not vinturied, taste is not especially complex, but rather straightforward, subdued tannins, dry, medium finish (further tastings of the same vintage under the same conditions shows some variation in the finish, from not so pleasant to quite decent); pair with St Louis ribs, overall an excellent wine with food

Winemaker's note: "The Indian Wells Merlot offers ripe berry fruit aromas and jammy flavors typical of Wahluke Slope reds. This is a full bodied style of warm climate Merlot with a round, supple finish. We added Wahluke Slope syrah to enhance the mouthfeel and rich fruit character. I call this my pasta wine!"

Did not show much on opening, but over the course of several days (vacuum sealed) it really opened up to a nice full-bodied merlot.

Dark ruby in color with a cloudy reddish /brick rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, cooked plums, raisins, dried fruits, oak, spices, vanilla, peppercorn, light vegetables, pencil lead, light alcohol, chocolates, herbs and light earth.
Full bodied with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, black cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee and peppercorn.
Medium length on the finish with fine tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a nice Merlot from Washington State. Big and fruit forward with nice complexity, now. A good sipping wine and good for parties.
Showing a tangy finish with nice spices.
Needed an hour in a decanter to open up properly, so take your time.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
$14.

Presents sweet vanilla and blackberry in a rather compact package marked by mild tannins and moderate acidity. Not bad for $10 from Costco.
Day 2: this bottle sat out on our counter uncorked overnight. Upon tasting, there’s not much fruit or tannins remaining. Strangely flat.
