Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a glass plus over 3 hours at the Ranch. Consistent with a recent note. Showed a bit younger tonight, cassis, a little herbaceous, dense and full bodied, cassis, dark black berries, spice and wood tones. 91+ to 92pts.

9/2017 Tasted at the winery. Just released. The pieces are there. This should come together nicely, but not sure if the structure will be there long term. Very little oak on this. 12/2017 Black & red raspberry nose. Darker cherry fruit. Needs time to come together. Tasted at the winery 6/18. Still the same. Needs time, but should be very good.

Very dark red with a purple hue. PNP, drank 2 glasses over 2.5 hours. Had this with my Dad and wife post convention tonight. Many thoughts going through my mind thinking about this day. Dad always likes Tapestry and I can't disagree. One of the best QPR wines out of Napa, and the picture of consistency and quality. Sitting with just 10 years now, this is in a nice place. The nose shows succulent swett cassis, wood spice and dried earth, plum, and herbal notes. The palate is full bodied, poised, such nice woodsy spice notes, cassis, black raspberry, green pepper, dried earth, and mineral notes with soft tannins. Very nice. I think this is still going to be better in a few years. These can age very well. 92(+)pts.

Popped and poured. Had with a brine pastrami finished beef rib. A fun easy drinker without much complexity other than dark fruits and oak. Drink or hold but I don't see this evolving into anything with greater complexity.

Opened on Friday night but ran out if gas before tasting. Sat open overnight, capped and stored at cellar temp all day Saturday. We cooked up some steaks and tried this wine along side 2011 Duemani Altrivino. The BV was much smoother, had more weight and less acidity than the Italian. The BV went better with the steaks and lentils. The Duemani is good, but needs tomato sauce to compliment or cream to offset. I am getting interested in Tapestry and looking forward to tasting the 2013, 2015 and 2018 versions.

Deep garnet color. Blackberry, dark cherry, a bit of graphite and light oak on the palate. Fully integrated tannins make this a bit softer than most Tapestry I have tasted. Full bodied and a nice accompaniment to a very meaty pizza.

Very smooth, full-bodied, dark fruits dominate. The rutherford cab integration with malbec may be obvious to those who know those flavor profiles well. Mild acidity in mid-palate with a mid-length finish. Additional cellaring certainly helped compared to my prior bottle in 2020.

Himalayan Lunch at Chateau Davyd. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of black cherries, dark currants, licorice, mint, dark meat. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (14.8%), smooth velvety high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of licorice, blackberries, black cherries, dark currants, mint, sweet spice, some meat. Very long spicy finish. Very good quality. Purists might find this quite sweetish though. Is a good wine, but lacks sense of place. Drinking well now already. Can age, but doesn't need a lot of it.

Nice nose, it has the Rutherford dust et al. Pretty nondescript after that. Fat ruby and purple fruit with a touch of warmth. I wanted to like it more, I came up on this stuff a decade + ago, but your money goes a lot farther on the right bank and other places.

Napa Bordeaux blend - 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 11% Petit Verdot. Drank along side an Alpha Omega Proprietary Red Bordeaux blend and consensus was AO was a lot better. I enjoyed this one too though. It had good black fruits, but a little heavier on the plum making it a little sweeter than the AO. Still, it was nice with the steaks we had. I think if it was drunk on it's own would have been better received.

Fantastic wine, loved it, a strong performer at a good price point. Decanted for 3 hours prior to drinks. Finished on night two.
Appearance: Dark Ruby to dark purple, squid ink. Not quite as purple as Syrah, but a beautiful site indeed. Medium to medium high viscosity. Some legs at around 14% and a wide rim.
Nose: Dark, Dark Dark fruit. Shall I add another dark? Leather, mens cologne, forest floor, musky happiness, primal. Classic.
Palate: Complex, dark (note the darks from the nose) fruit at the front with leather, tobacco, mushroomy umami with a beautiful oaky finish at the end. Balanced tannins and actually tasted at a lower alcohol point.
I love this wine, I paired it with a vegan (Herbivorous Butcher) Bœuf Bourguignon and vegan baked brie. Perfect!

One-hour decant. Very aromatic during decant. Deep garnet throughout, no bricking. Clear; no sediment. After resting, nose was a melange of figs, dates and blackberries, short bread cookies, coffee and flowers. In the mouth: good depth, great dark fruit. Smooth as silk. Long finish with a hint of arugula. Lovely wine!

Love this - inky black, rich, robust, blackberry and fruity, very smooth. Wonderfully complex and long finish, but I seem to be the only one around who gets a hint of BUTTER in this! Love it to death, and feeling lucky I still have several bottles remaining in the cellar; bought a case back 3-4 years ago, and it just seems to keep getting better with age.

Much better than the previous one I had 1.5 years ago. This was far more open, sweet and inviting. Soft red fruit, no sourness, medium-bodied. Very pleasant and reasonable for the price. Not as good on the 2nd day - lost its fruit profile and the acidity became more pronounced.

Decanted approx. 30 min. ... Nose a touch reticent after decant, but rich, red berries at the front, with a little lick of cream, though not heavy. Generally well-made stuff. New world, but not a fruit bomb. Reliable favorite at a relatively accessible price.

Decent but could use another year or two in the cellar. Medium-plus weight, black fruits, decent acidity in mid-palate, but missing something to take it up to the next level of 90 and 90+ for my palate. I compared it to 2013 which is much more balanced and ready now.

A solid wine with a nice nose, good flavor and enough tannin to hold it all together.
Typical BV with jammy fruits and plenty of oak imparted spices. However, this is slightly unremarkable IMO. A nice mid-week wine with pizza but does not warrant higher score due to its simple construction. I was able to score this at $30 so a good QPR wine, again IMO.

What a surprise. Truly beautiful nose. Roses, berry, currant, and a hint of vanilla and leather. I had to keep coming back to the bouquet with each sip. More structure and complexity than I expected on the palate. Deep red fruit with a long and smooth finish. This wine delivers a lot of enjoyment for us at this price point and is one of the few wines that intersects our dissimilar palates. If you are looking for a high quality Napa red at a good value, try this one.

Very deep purple color, opaque. At first I thought the aroma felt more like a classic bordeaux than Napa. I did find that touch of freshness and fruit that I have always associated as more California. I guess it doesn't really matter though because this is a wonderful wine no matter where it comes from. Besides the nice fruit in the aroma I picked up lovely scents of leather/forest floor/wood. The taste is intense and very enjoyable. I got cherry and currant but I am sure a more discerning palette would find more complexity. I found after a bit of time that the woodiness comes through on the palette as well. There is a nice tannic structure here and a fantastic lingering finish.

Another solid Tapestry comparable to the 2012 vintage. Red fruits, pencil shavings, medium oak, with a medium to short finish. Always a fan favorite. Raised a point to 92 on second night. Pumped air and put back in the cellar at 58 degrees F overnight. Night two was excellent. The wine just seemed to come all together and drank beautifully. Would suggest holding one to two years in the bottle of decant for a few hour if you want to drink now.

The wine apparently has bright acidity because most of the Merlot comes from Carneros. And the idea is a more European wine. Relaunched in Europe and apparently Tapestry is on fire. 60-70% new oak for 21 months and full year in bottle.
And it does have the green merlot acidity thing that the wine maker mentioned.

Chinese New Year (Gen Hoe): Courtesy of J&K. Decanted. Cassis and dark berry fruit notes on the nose and palate. Vanilla and oak spice flavors in the finish. Young and tight, this has some potential but needs time. Hold until 2023+.

Nose: An initial soft spiced oak that fades into the background, great deep red fruits.. something like intense black cherries and some strawberries, green shrubs, exposed dry earth.
Palate: Great smooth, red fruit. Slight oak and heat.. some minerality and deep earth.
Deep, dark ruby. Dry with chewy, grippy tannins. Medium-minus body with moderate acidity. Decent finish of about 4 seconds. I really enjoyed the nose on this one. The palate is good but seems to, for a lack of a better word, decay rather quickly. The juiciness stays but the fruits seem to go away quickly, which in turn makes the wine becomes more oaky and minerally as time goes on. Might be intentional and those who enjoy oak will probably like that a lot, just not my preference though.

Relatively light colour; good nose which has some medicinal and herbal complexity alongside the ripe fruit. Fruit coulis; smooth and easy to like on the palate - a crowd pleaser. Builds a little in intensity - relatively lightweight style and almost takes on a Sangiovese-like structure on swirling. Fair.

WSET, Level 3 Advanced Certifcation Training; 3/11/2018-4/22/2018 (Texas Wine School at the Food & Wine Foundation of Texas, Austin, TX): Tasting sample. Deep ruby color displaying medium aromas of eucalyptus, mixed black and blue fruits, and some vanilla oak. Flavor profile reflects medium intense flavors of blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, raspberry, and vanilla underscored with medium plus acidity, medium tannin, and medium plus body. High alcohol. Long finish. Still developing, can drink now but should reward additional cellaring.

Beautiful aroma, smells refined and rich. Cool, silky start. Finishing with pomegranate and sandy loom. Hint of pepper.

Chinese New Year (Gen Hoe): Courtesy of J&K. Decanted. Cassis and dark berry fruit notes on the nose and palate. Vanilla and oak spice flavors in the finish. Young and tight, this has some potential but needs time. Hold until 2023+.

Not a plush Napa wine. Oak, spice and restrained, even after a 2 hour decant. An interesting wine that you can think about.

Was debating between 3.5 and 4. It’s okay but somehow a bit boring. Nothing stands out.

Dark fruits, nice nose, decent finish for a wine we were impatient for. Paired beautifully with chocolate, and softened tannins were great

Fair.

As good as ever....wish I could still find for $28 at Costco, but $35 isn't bad for this grape

Hard to beat this Napa Cab blend in this price range. Herbal aromas, with leather and tobacco flavors, some menthol and black fruit. Nice medium length with mouth coating tannins to finish.

Excellent is all I have to say. And I did find it at 40 bucks so I backed up a small truck. I wish I could provide more adjectives to describe why I like it but I don’t seem to have a nose like a hound dog from the previous reviewer who has a different ability to taste and describe!

Excellent... I really haven't been liking much from napa these days, given the prices. If you can find this for under $40 back the truck up. Ready to drink now, but can be cellared for 2-3 more years
