A bit strident and underwhelming, not so inviting, with the fruit somewhat muted. Medium acidity. I generally don't seek out Chianti Classico as I find the acidity doesn't suit my palate.

Juicy, oaky, soft, ripe, nice acidity. Very polished with very little sangio feel/funk or rusticity. Not serious but It's a quaffable, spicy, ripe, glass that feels Italian enough.
not exactly sure why I was holding these other than mere curiosity meets hoarder vibes. Costco buy... not sure it's drinking any better than it was on release.
For the price, a great example of a tasty modern/young-drinking Chianti. No shade. WE O'Keefe is always more trustworthy than WA or Suckling... it's a solid 89 vicinity with no reason to age<<<<and that's not bad!!!

Double decanted 2 hours, deep colours, basic nose of red berries and leather ending on tart finish. Chalky tanins. Slightly improved with time. Not impressed, was expecting more considering Wine Spectator's 94 rating. I think they greatly exaggerated that score. Will hold 5 years.

I did not drink, but wanted you all to know the drinking window doesn’t start until 2023. From WS: ROCCA DELLE MACÌE Chianti Classico Famiglia Zingarelli Riserva 2015 Score: 94 A dark version, featuring intense flavors of blackberry, black cherry, spice and tar up against a wall of tannins. Extremely likeable wine, but it seemed to change across our efforts to get it to breathe and decanted...by dinner it was a classic Chianti-very good but not exceptional, probably good for the price. Went well with steak fajitas. Dark raspberry and cigar box. Seems to need a lot of air, so may still be young but we quite enjoyed it, but were not overwhelmed. Guess this is what you get for a $20 Chianti these days, which was fine.

Was excited to try this for the price pint and the reviews. My wife and I tried at 1, 2, amd 3 hour decant. For some reason we just didn’t like the flavor. Had to get through it. Might be just us or something off in that bottle. Cork was fine with no apparent flaw.
Started off with some pretty sharp tannins, but opened but surprisingly quickly after 30 minutes or so and continued to improve. While perfectly quaffable, just enough structure to keep you interested. Has that characteristic acidity that is my preference.

Very good at this stage. I’ll try to save the remaining bottles for a few years, since it will probably get better. Decanting what is left, and trying it the next day should tell me.
Tight, needing at least a two hour decant at this stage. Slowly opens up to show notes of black cherry, leather, and dark chocolate on the nose and palate, with tarry notes taking over on the medium-long finish. The tannins need another year or two for this bottle to really start singing, but the potential is definitely there.

From 75cl, good cork. Decanted 30 minutes, did not change much during subsequent hour. Glad to read Alexander Bauer's TN of 30.05.2020, but I disagree. For my taste this seems pretty "international", a bit "over-extracted" and quite far from my ideal of Chianti. It lacks charm, brightness and levity. Indeed I would go so far as to say it strikes me as po-faced, even a bit boring. Despite that, it is indeed an eminently quaffable international-styled red as I noted on 05.05.2020, just dandy if you like that sort of thing. I note with interest that Costco is – by a huge margin – the biggest supplier of this wine to CT members: since I bought my bottles from a similar pile-em-high-and-sell-em-cheap outfit in Gemany I'm not pointing this out as a gesture of snobbishness, just to highlight that this is a volume product, on which the wider market has a clear verdict. I'll be buying more Fontodi, Farnetella, Mazzei, Isola e Olena etc. in future, but will probably avoid this producer. 87-89P

This wine is maybe as close to an ideal Chianti as one can imagine. It wasn't inky dark and over-extracted as many wines trying to be "international" tend toward these days, but rather showed a remarkable clarity and purity that though lighter in color was in no way less intense in flavor. Impressive flavors of cherry run through this, with notes of chocolate and wet earth, all framed by firm but not overpowering tannins. It is a wine that should show even contemporary palates how good a true Chianti can be. And for a $25 riserva, it represents a remarkable QPR as well.

From 75cl, good cork, quick decant but not a speck of sediment. Surprisingly rich, dark-fruited and soft for a young Chianti riserva, this tasty crowd-pleaser with just a tiny hint of licquorice would be a safe restaurant choice, but for home consumption I won’t be rebuying. Ready now, should keep short-medium term, but I fear the WS 94P will remain a mystery to me: „wall of tannins“? Perhaps Mr. Sanderson had a different wine in his glass? 89P

Good, with a few moments of very good. For the money, I prefer their Chianti Classico Famiglia, at least comparing the current releases of each wine. This is med/med+, with mostly red, some dark fruits. Tannins are sweet, a bit round, but this is missing some freshness, energy, and complexity that I'm not sure time will remedy. Reasonably priced, but many other more interesting (for my palate) wines in the same tier. It's easy to drink and understand, and in that regard it's fine, but this is not a bottling/vintage that I'd seek out, or even care to drink again. The 14,0% abv. is integrated, and this is ready to drink now thru 2026.
This medium/full-bodied wine is freshly acidic and nicely tannic. It displays fine aromas of dark fruits and berries. The overall impression is stylish and refined. This is in a good shape at the moment, but the wine will probably be even more balanced and subtle after a few years of cellaring.

Ruby red color. Sweet black cherry, ripe red fruits, green tobacco on the nose. Black cherry, cranberry, bracing acidity on the palate. Tart, sharp and almost medicinal on the finish. Modern, fruit forward style. I’m a little more old school when it comes to chianti. Found this disappointing in that regard.

Ruby red color. Nose is of blackberries and vanilla. On the palate, the blackberry flavors dominate. Decent wine, not my favorite style of Chianti Classico Riserva.

Medium to full bodied--big for a Chianti. Blackberries, black cherry and plum. Big round tannins. Another gem from the 2015 Chianti Classico vintage--it will be interesting to see how this one ages. Great potential.

Deep, dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, berries & plums with overtones of dried herbs & earthy/dusty notes, some spices, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of sour cherries, raspberries & red plums with herbs, earthy, minerals & spices. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but has the potential for further development with additional aging. An indicative blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Very good QPR.

The wine is medium ruby with medium legs. Slight rim variation to a pale ruby/borderline garnet("brickiness"). The nose is clean, with a medium intensity of cherries, forest floor, red current, coffee, and hint sandlewood. Unfortunately, a green/stemi-ness in my option throws this wine out of balance for a sangiovese; both on the nose and palate. The wine is medium+ intensity, medium+ acid and high tannins that are grippy, but fine. The body is medium with medium+ alcohol. Good/Ok with too much greeness which is not an integrated herbaceousness quality; possibly too much vigour from August rains or early picking... Not my favorite and technically just a good wine as it lacks complexity and balance.

Coravin tasting clear, med+ ruby clean, med+ primary, secondary & tertiary intensity of dry cherries, earth, smoked meat, herbaceous; developing dry, high acidity, med tannins, med body, high alcohol, rich dry cherries, earth, smoked meat, herbaceous flavours, spices, complexed, long finish; developing can drink now - but better age further 3-5 years at least till entering its optimal drinking window. outstanding - will age well 10-15 years.

Lively fruit flavors of cherry, blackberry, nutmeg. Smooth finish, one of the best 2015s I've had from Chianti, excellent QPR.

Cherry and stewed plum with darker berry notes beneath, blackberry leaf. It’s tannins are definitely firm, but not so drying as to diminish the enjoyment. Tasty overall, and promises even better, I’d expect, in two or three years.

Not usually a big chianti fan, but this was a pleasant food fine with more fruit and body than most.

Good overall, but not a very heavy body and not much complexity. Good, not great.

Darn good drinking Chianti that leans more on the dark fruit modern side of things.
