Nez pierre a fusil, richesse au nez comme en bouche sans excès, expressif, texture fort agréable, très classe et très Leflaive en style, finale délicieuse et longue. 94-95
Flinty and rich on the nose and palate, very expressive, nice texture, delicious and lenghty finish.

A really superb showing and total outperformance vs my expectations especially for the 2016 vintage which to me is often fairly hollow in the mid palate. This bottle was decanted for half an hour and it immediatly showed really open, engaging and deep with a whiff of reduction and good fruit concentration with lovely precision - very Puligny and very Leflaive.

Quite a bright yellow. Noticeable reduction and a real weight of fruit. Sherberty, a touch of game, lots of presence and authority. Saline and intense. Could be more charming, and didn't seem to justify the premium.

A lost Friday afternoon gathering – Champagne and Burgundy (Blacksalt, Washington DC): Expressive nose displaying rich yellow and white fruit, lemon curd, granny smith, apple candy, a hint of flint, sweet spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, nicely layered generous white and yellow fruit, excellent balance and precision, bright acidity and mineral, and a seamless long perfectly ripe yellow and white fruit driven finish with a hint of flint at the end. Although young, this is really delicious.

Great nose as always which evolves from white peach to smoky meat at one point. High level of Acidity on the palate - opened up more after an hour and I feel that this is starting to shut down. Price for Folatieres starting to edge up closer to Pucelle level.

Had in conjunction with the Clavoillon '16. This was a step up in terms from that. The aromatics was less strong to start and more saline but had more depth in the palate and finish. Excellent to drink now and and paired beautifully with roast chicken.

A ripe nose of white peach and honeysuckle. There are intense white peach notes in the mouth, and it has excellent volume. Fruit flavours build and carry through onto the long, minerally finish.

Commentaire semblable à Mario17. Beaucoup aimé, avec son petit cote reducteur qui transporte le vin a un autre niveau

Roasted pineapple and gunflint nose. Beautiful spicy exotic palate of pineapple, citrus, curd. Nearly as good as the Pucelles. 94+

Jasper on Terroir: Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Folatières (67 Pall Mall TV): The fourth-largest holding, with most of their vines in the north.

A private tasting and lunch with Eric and Marianne de Bruijn (De Bruijn Wijnkopers / Restaurant Het Savarijn, Nijmegen, NL): Elegant, subtle oak, silky, creamy lemon, intense but weightless, steely freshness, flowing and relaxed, excellent persistence on the complex finish. Remarkable finesse, more Pucelles than Folatières.

Step up in intensity of aromatics and palate from Clavoillon. Minerality and ample fruit.

The most open of the '16 Leflaive 1ers at this juncture. Relatively restrained and finessed, with beautiful fruit and silky texture. Floral.
