Salon Ficofi Paris walkabout tasting and dinner, no detailed tasting notes. Fresh, grassy, typical house style. Good, but not as complex as the Chassagne.

Flash decant. A bit tight at first and needed some air to put on depth and round out. This is still a baby and needs a few more years to fill out. Still a great drink with lovely acid and the classic Ramonet weighty style.

Drank in a lineup with '17 Hubert Lamy, Marc Colin, Joseph Colin and Ramonet, all from En Remilly.
The Lamy was the most elegant / austere of the four, with nice notes of lemon curd, butter, cream and more elegant oak use.
The Marc Colin was quite similar in style in this year, also on the elegant side. It did lack a little bit of finesse compared to the Lamy.
The Joseph Colin and especially the Ramonet showed great intensity and power (but for my taste were too broad shouldered to be fully enjoyable). The Ramonet showed some reduction, and no typical fennel / spearmint notes.

Lots of apple and pear with a rich start, then brighter and leaner from middle forward to its long-ish finish. Good now, probably better in another year or three.

Wonderfully reductive on the nose with notes of lemon, smoke and hazelnut. Hauntingly intense and beautiful. On the palate mid-weight and super fleshy with mouthwatering freshness. Fantastic use of oak with stellar fruit. Just a very complete wine that has it all and is drinking almost too well right now.

Lovely nose of lemon, peach, and general orchard fruit. Palate has a creaminess, with loads of fruit, and balanced acidity. Blinded and guessed Chassagne, but in hindsight that creaminess probably hinted at St Aubin. Continued to grow in the glass, and overall a very satisfying wine.

Intense white. I wouldn't call this rustic, but it is a bit less elegant than its cousins right next to it. Not a bad thing though.
Dry, med+ acid, med+ body and intensity. Baked apples, honey-roasted nuts, salt, butter, butterscotch - everything combined in a creamy texture and very persistent aftertaste. Incredible.

Young, but approachable and providing lots of pleasure. Good complexity for St-A. Upside from here.

A lovely wine with bright white stone fruits and a solid core of dense mineral infused flavors. Elegantly textured and drinking nicely.

Dinner and Lunch with Michael Stephens...and Damoy and Aurelian Verdet Wines (Chicago, USA): Subtle floral start with rich apple, some lemon rind. Faint matchstick start, but overall certainly fun now.

Still has some baby fat that needs to integrate. Showed a bit rich and oily. Would give this a couple more years.

Really good. Has the fruit to balance the “sexy oak” which plays in the background nice acidity too! Bravo
