Dense purple, full bodied wine. Decanted and drank over five hours Best glass was the last and consumed at near true ambient room temperature. Figs, balsamic, floral notes, some anise. Perfectly balanced. Tastes like the nose would indicate. Medium finish. This wine is definitely on its down slope. This wine is probably a 93 pt wine onnly a couple of years ago. Still delicious.

I was concerned that this bottle may be well past its prime. A taste straight out of the bottle seemed to confirm my concerns. There was an odd sweetness and, despite the age, some harsh tannins. After decanting for two hours and serving it with food, it opened up beautifully. Delightful. I wish I had another.
Minneapolis Wine Club Goes Blind :) (Shari's house): Dark red color. Well, this was other mistake of the night. Nice wine, cherry, earth. palate has nice balance and good finish. Did not strike me as aged Brunello though. Oh well.

Very nicely balanced fruit and earth with cherry and other red stone fruit. Deep color with storng psowerful finish, soft tannins. Most liley at its peak. Very easy to drinbk.

I'm very much a novice when it comes to brunello, however I thought this a very good wine. It drinks just like the WS description from the 2003 tasting. One cautionary note, this bottle had a cork that was about 40% saturated. So I guess it's time to drink up the rest of this '98 stash to make way for the '01 riservas.

Minneapolis Wine Club: Blind Tasting $25 Price Point: I thought the first Brunello was the 98 but note to be. Minerals, tobacco, raspberry and sweet fruits. Medium finish and drink now.

A very earthy nose...not much fruit and very thin overall...pretty disappointing based on age/pedigree.

very good again. Bought from PA state store....all their wines have corks that are dangerously close to being bad.

More soft and elegant than I expected but still fresh fruit with mild tannins. Should last several more years.
