I drank this with Wineberserkers in Astoria (Queens) NY. It's an oh my wine that can be kept for multiple years. It was very dark (cola color) and lip smackin good. It had a long lingering finish.

Again a great drink. Last bottle we had was 11 years ago, at which time it was orangey in color. Now it is pretty dark brown! (While one commenter says their flawed bottle was brown, this was stunningly delightful. Nose is intense with dried apricots and an overall rich unctuous nose. The palate was dark caramel and walnuts -- great balance of sweet and some background acidity. Brought out the robiola and sottocenere cheeses we had with it. Again a Meditazione vino. (This is a 750ml bottle.)

A beautiful nose of orange blossom and apple cider. On the palate, apple cider, truffle, orange peel, apricot, and prune, with strong acidity balancing strong sweetness. This is outstanding. I wish I had several more bottles instead of just one.

Pop and pour from 375. The color is very dark orange-brown, suggesting that this may not have been kept cold. Orange blossom honey and apricot on the nose; on the palate, apricot, peach, bitter burnt orange peel, and a slight pruney note on the long finish. The bitter/acidic note balances the intense richness and sweetness, and seems to increase over time. This lacks the tropical fruit elements I usually find in Sauternes, and the balance of other flavors is also different, but there is definitely a resemblance. Edit: On the second day, the honey element has faded and notes of apple cider and caramel have appeared. The added complexity makes this irresistible -- one more sniff, one more taste to try to figure out what is happening on your tongue. I am adding a point to reflect the improvement. This is one of the best dessert wines I have had.

BYO - Erik (Frederiksberg): Intense apricot kernel and vanilla nose. The palate has the same impressions but with a dense and compact intensity to it laced with a little vanilla. A great wine!

Intense dark orange color. Nose intensely redolent of dried apricot and cooked peach. Palate is unctuous with a great balance of acid and sweet, with some underlying spice. A classic meditazione vino.

Dark orange, darker than I'd expected it to be. Poured straight from the bottle, it exhibited aromas of toasted almonds and quince jam. Explosive on the palate, with quince, yellow plums and toffee. Beautiful acidity balances the sweetness. Superb wine which everyone really liked.

"Barbara Burlingame" Offline (Rotisserie Jules, London): Burnt amber colour, roast pineapple and grilled peach nose, spicy attack, enormous sugar and acid, but balanced, enormous length, could still be tasted on the way home. Superb, where do I buy some!

Offline with Barbara Burlingame (Rotisserie Jules, South Kensington): Wow was this good... dark gold, with a nose of roasted pineapple (thanks for pinpointing that one Russell) and exotic spices. Very sweet, with botrytis and tarte tatin, but also flavours of almonds and roasted nuts. Long long finish. Amazing stuff and a discovery for me.

Does not compare to anything. Sweet but tart. Dark amber with a rose hue. Complex. Above anything enjoyable and inviting

Unfortunately this was oxidized, brown and nothing like my previous experiences with this excellent wine.

Color: Medium gold color with perhaps a slight pinkish hue.
Nose: Peach cobler, citric fruits and floral scents.
Palate: Sweet honey, pineapples and apricot flavours with nice acidity and the slightest hint of oak. A decadent drink. Resembles a great Sauternes.
Score: 50+5+13+18+9=93
Other remarks: RP says it is the same blend as the Torcolato but aged 2 years in 100% new French oak.
