Opaque dark colour. Seems unfiltered. Evident wood. Chocolate.
Dark fruit, mostly blackberry. Fruit is overripe and sweet, feels cooked. With time in glass reveals more vegetable tones, with touch of mint. Wine is at its peak now and I don't think it will improve with time.
Tannins are sandy, finely grained, not aggressive. Finish is short. Leaves muted impression.
Blend: 2/3 Merlot, 20% CabSauv, 5% CabFranc.
It is situated in the western zone of the Entre-Deux-Mers. To the south of the parish of Saint-Loubès, the topography varies between 22 meters and 42 meters in altitude.
On the opposite from Pomerol and St.Emillion side of Libourne.
Tasted over 3 hrs -nearly opaque slightly murky dark red violet -pure essence of cassis right out of the gate then a bit of earthy boysenberry and plum emerges without any overt mature elements -med acidity, med weight soft mouthfeel almost lush with mostly faded boysenberry plum fruit remnants give some fruit to the mostly earth-laden mid-palate, faint licorice and med/med- tannins carry the average length finish -pretty nose while the palate is fading, seems like perhaps it could become more interesting if it picks up mature elements but not sure the structure will allow it so my guess is this is best to drink sooner rather than later

Great QPR. Terrific graphite, minerality and dark fruits on the nose. Tannic, mineral and blackberry on the palate. Lingering finish. This wine outperforms.

For my palate, this was quite a good showing for this wine. It was much more open than bottles of the 2005 have been the past few years, if seemingly more fruity and 'modern' and with fewer classical Bordeaux flavor characteristics. 90-91ish

Solidly approachable, indeed quite enjoyable, with loads of cassis, licorice and toasty vanilla. Lacking in depth and complexity for the vintage, though, and unlikely to improve in my view.

PnP and tasted over 2 hours. Dark Ruby color, not much to the nose other than faint cherry and wood. Medium body and much more approachable than the 05 I had two days ago. Finish is dry and tannins still leave your tongue dry. Only flaw is that it's fairly simple. Still it's enjoyable and feels like it would mature between 2019 and 2024.

So much better than previous vintages. I've had many bottles from '05 and '03 especially. This '09 has none of the dusty, earthy tones of those efforts. This is big, classy, with well-rounded fruit. Very impressive at the price.

decanted for a few hours and sipped over a few more. blueberry, cigar box, and meatiness, powdery tannins. pleasant sweetness, enough acidity. no real regrets about opening it when i did.

This pop and pour, crowd pleaser is ready to go. Lots of licorice, vanilla, coffee bean, black cherry liqueur and cocoa character are found in each sniff and sip. This is not an ager, but for easy drinking pleasure today, this is worth the tariff.

Very nice. Well balanced w some complexity on palate. Wall of tannins on day 1 and much better on day 2. Definitely will benefit from time in the cellar

Probably over achieves given the vintage, but it's a nice wine, probably more new world than typical Bordeaux, lots of fresh dark fruit, cassis, vanilla on the nose and palate, medium acidity and finish

Non-blind. Decanted 2.5 hrs. @Bistro au Miel, Tobe, Yokohama. Almost black wine - first one ever I couldn't decant without help-light. (Maybe age...) Upon opening: Shop closed. Hard an unpleasant. After decant: Nose slightly open: showing off a little mature fruit, some leather, coffee and oak. On the palate: TI-TANNIC and halfway to New World style. High acids. Needs some more rest. Impression of a fruit-driven French red from the South-West. It also has a very clear iodine component meaning this wine is not only good for your heart and soul, also for your thyroid gland and it's T3 and T4 production. This may reach 90p and is the best Bordeaux Supériure I ever had. Wife agrees. No more btls of this - Life's too short.

Dark jammy fruits on the nose with a strong oaky touch lead to full bodied flavors and seductive tannins but the wine's finish remains a little bit dry. I would suggest to wait...
(15 euros). Complètement d'accord avec le commentaire précédent. C'est un vin très "nouveau monde".

Lots of dusty red and black fruit, with a hint of mushroom and maybe menthol. Felt timid when first opened, but blossomed on day two.

Very low acidity, a lot of astringent tannins and no more fruits.
It’s over for this wine. If you haven’t drink it yet, do it now

Needed lots of time to soften the tannins (~3h). Strong and full flavor, berries, leather, chocolate. Went very well with a strong Chaource cheese.

Rocky and plush with a round mouth feel. Nice New World qualities. A really good wine.
