Cork was slightly compromised, red streaks to the top and crumbled a bit upon opening. Wine did not seem to suffer badly. Slightly more aged than my previous bottle, more of a maroon-ish brown color.

A relatively open knit and fruit forward wine compared to most of Burgess's wines. Blackberry nose. Rich mid palate. Sweet vanilla finish, but not unreasonably so. Just wish this had a bit more structure either from acidity or tannins. Still, for the price paid ($9.99 discounted), this is extraordinary QPR.

Drinking beautifully now...soft tannins, good fruit, very smooth, medium finish. Wonderful paired with a nice steak. Great value. So glad that I have 3 more. The future looks bright.

In a great place right now. Elegantly styled on both nose and palate. Medium in body, relatively lush mouth feel. Seems fully resolved and at its peak. Excellent QPR at $20 closeout.

Very dark garnet red color. PNP, drank 2+ glasses over 2 hours. This was showing very well still, and is in a good place to drink. The nose is bright with dry earth, cassis, black cherry, blueberry, somewhat perfumed, briary. The palate is equally impressive with consistent fruits, velvety texture, distinct leaf tobacco, coffee, nice spices, round moderate tannins, medium plus finish. This was a steal.

Dark ruby core almost to the rim. Very nice aroma, soft fruit with very slightly detectable tannins, quite smooth and tasty. However, I can see why it can be observed as one dimensional. This bottle looks and tastes right for its age. No decant, drank over 3 hours.
Side note, brought this to a tasting more than a year ago, one taster thought it was significantly older than its age, taster might have mistaken this for the 1999 Juslyn that was sitting next to it.

Drank over 2 nights. Old world, Bordeaux like. Some decent red fruit, maybe a bit too tannic. I can't decide if this was probably better last year, or will be better next year...

Just opened one and the first glass was quit yummy. Very solid taste throughtout. Nice nose, as little faint at first and then opened up nicely. Ready to finnish the rest of the bottle tonight.

This was a very nice, balanced and good valued wine. We had this and a 2004 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cab, and this one was clearly the better wine per the entire group. Silver Oak is way over-priced and over-rated.

Decanted for 2 hours before serving with dinner. Decent amount of red and black fruits along with mild oak and dusty tannin. This wine is smooth with a great mouth feel. The finish was medium with a lingering dusty cherry taste. I would guess this wine just needs more time to settle out. I'll most likely wait another 6 months before opening another bottle.

Nose smelled like an aged CA Cab. or CA Bdx blend; strong menthol/eucalyptus note on the Nose. A bit flat on the palate. 14.4% alc.; Looked, smelled, and tasted significantly older than it is. I have to believe this was an off bottle (heat damage suspected).

Pichon and CDP at Matt's (Matt's House): Nice wine and served to us blind. I thought Cali Syrah due to the high levels of blackberries combined with spice. Very nice wine with blackberries, spice, smoke, cranberry and bluesberries. A minty quality comes up on the finish. Medium finish and fun to drink.

Pichon and CDP at my place (My House): Mystery Wine brought by Kevin. Nose: Deep red fruits (good ripeness), floral with subtle herbs. Palate: Red fruits, soft styled and very elegant. Guessed this was a CA meritage. I was very close. Delicious wine that on day 2 was still going strong. Thanks to Kevin for bringing this.

Dark Garnet Red. Popped and poured, was beautiful right from the start. Nose is lush, layered, and complex: cassis, cedar, blackberry, tobacco, earth, then later blueberry and coffee. Palate of blackberry, spice, cassis, coffee, great fruit, silky texture on the mouth. Soft tannins and a long finish. I was blown away by this wine. I wish I had a case. 94% Merlot, 3% CS, 3% CF

Dark fruit, vanilla/oak, and a touch of brown sugar and olive on an aromatic nose. All that carries to the palate, which is medium in body, some acidity, and very fine tannins. The blend of different varietals seems to help this achieve a very nice balance. I agree with the previous review that some more time will serve this well, though mine won't last 5 years. Try the next bottle in 12-18 months. A short to midterm wine. Good QPR @$20 closeout.

Opened, aerated, decanted and drank. Very solid wine. Opens with blackberries, currants and a heavy presence on the palate. Cabernet comes through the blend.

Decanted for an hour. Rich, dark fruit. Smooth vanilla oak. Seems like there was plenty of life left in this bottle.

Dark, clear garnet. Could go a few more years. Prolly a bit young still, but drank nicely.
Soft and mellow, very drinkable, tho not especially complex - ie quite simple.
Still, no rough edges and very drinkable. Excellent QPR.
