Disgorged Mar. 28, 2014 Good drinking …. smooth, great acidity, strawberries/raspberries, yeasty, fine bubbles, nice medium body. Well balanced, good focus and depth. Wish the length was a big more.

Had it with sushi for Valentine. worked very well for its purpose. Color is pink salmon. the nose is mostly mineral and some strawberries. Bubbles are medium fine. On the palate it is acid and practically no sweetness can be tasted which is what I like. the taste is mostly strawberries granny Smith and citrus zest. I prefer Doquet's whites better but it was a nice experience.

Thanksgiving dinner Champagne - so damn good still. Forget what the critics say this is still drinking beautifully! Filet mignon with Bearnaise is a stupid food pairing with this one. We loved it.

Flickinger Tasting at The Casino (Chicago, IL): I don't know the dosage on this, but I'm guessing that it isn't too low. It's very nice to come across a bottle of a wine that isn't one of those NYC-zero-dosage-or-bust types. Nice and round on the palate, with some sweet red fruit notes. The finish however, is abbreviated.

Pop and poured the night before, tight like a rubber band. Back in the btl and now sipping the next day. Opened up, good fruit, nice feel and taste in th palate and a better finish.

Champagne Brunch (David's House - Washington, DC): Fun, fruit-forward, with watermelon, cotton candy, strawberry shortcake and some toasted bread. Tasty, but it was overshadowed by the others in the tasting.

I think was a little old - no disgorgment date in bottle but the cork was pretty mushroomed and the taste was a little flat. You could tell the fruit was really nice, just a little beat-up. Great minerality to the wine. Would love to try a fresher bottle.

Terres et Vins de Champagne 'a Portland; 5/17/2013-5/18/2013 (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): Really enjoyed this today. This offered luscious, vibrant spiky sweet minerality on the nose. Quite decedent with that mineral laced sweet fruit aroma. The palate shows a soft, really nice mouse. Creamy and beautifull in texture, offering luscious strawberry and apple. More pleasing fruit flavors on the finish and nicely coating of the palate. Really good. I wonder if I particularly enjoyed this one because it was the first of 40? *shrug*

This was a very nice bottle - deep rose color, soft mouth feel with an almost creamy bead. Taste of macerated strawberry juice. Excellent with some crab cakes.

Nice, but too sure I buy again - Camille Saves kills it. Strawberries on th nose with some cotton candy. A little too much confection for me. A bit unfocused and without much of a finish.... Having said all of that - still a good bottle.

Dinner with Bobby Kacher (Yono's Restaurant, Albany, NY): With Oysters with Crème Fraîche, Caviar; Tuna Tartare; Lobster Canapé. Complex, delicious, soft. Nose of fresh strawberries. Not a hint of strawberry jam, just pure fresh strawberries. Excellent length.

This bottle much better (thanks goodness) than the previous two. Similar slightly-candied red-wine profile and short finish, but clean enough to taste like Champagne, just not especially distinguished.

Rather funky and unfocused, bordering on sweet, with a strong but pleasant red-wine presence. Improved with food, but not enough to really enjoy very much

Nice, bright red color. Fresh red cherry and a whiff of yeast / dough on the nose. Slightly creamy texture on the palate. Red fruit. A bit of toast on the finish. Nicely balanced.

Medium-light body, cherry, minerals, citrus palate, medium finish. This may have gotten a less than thorough examination as it was guzzled with the salmon. 89+pts.
