Pop and pour through aerator. Initial thought, wow. Well integrated, fruit, graphite, coats your mouth, lingering finish, really good wine and very impressed for a not-so-great vintage. This is a solid wine in a great spot

No formal notes. Very smooth for a 2011, though while it avoids the tart acid and tartness of the vintage, it gets thin towards the center of the palate. It's really well integrated and feels like the bottom is slowly but surely falling out. I wouldn't sit on these any longer. As earthy as it is fruity.

Alcohol, stewed fruit, potpourri on the nose. Blue and red fruit on the palate. A bit of stone fruit, apricot or plum maybe. Lovely color that's translucent red. More acid than tannin. Forest floor. Lovely.

My wife and I tasted this at the Woodinville tasting room on 9/27/14. It had a rich, elegant and expressive bouquet of cassis, black cherry, violet and spice aromas. The palate was deep, layered and wonderfully integrated with flavors of black currant, black cherry, spice coffee and minerals.
