Meant to grab a 2010 and grabbed this off the rack by mistake! Based on my previous notes I didn’t think it would be drinking all too well. Wow, was I wrong! PnP, immediately accessible. Beautiful burgundy notes of earth, cherry and French strawberries. Perfect balance with fruit, tannin. Everything you could ask for in village burgundy and more. I only wish I had a case of it. Drank at Lenoir with the gang.

Still just ahead of a peak drinking window but plenty enjoyable with some air. Lovely red cherry fruit with spice and emerging earth tones. Bright, polished fruit with a old vine concentration yet elegant. Somewhat firm tannins that soften with air. Peak is getting close ... 2-3 years, perhaps.

Dinner at Terroir (Utrecht, NL): [Restaurant purchese] No detailed notes. My first Fourrier; what an utterly delicious wine! Not necessarily the most complex wine there is (even after 11 years), but it makes it up (and even more) by being so extremely drinkable and enjoyable. Red fruit, floral, coca cola, earth. Lovely depth and persistence!

In a great spot. rlove's note hits it for me- "Red berry and Gevrey soil tones. Lush and silky with bright acidity and good concentration to the red fruited, medium weight flavors that offer good persistence and a fine mineral underpinning. Fourrier's 2012 Aux Echezeaux is everything you want in red Burgundy." Everyone at the table was wowed by this wine.
