Coravin fun - Bordeaux (My place, Burwood): From Coravin. Cream and blackcurrant morph into crème du cassis, plums sweet spice, leather, touch of umami and more savoury notes with time. Nice nose. On the palate the fruit has a bit of a green quality to it' less generous but still presentable blackcurrant with mint. Tannins are drying, slightly chalky and slightly clumsy and foursquare. It's a touch out of whack today. Hmm.

Confirmation of my previous ratings : 92 Pleasant wine. Roundness would be the overall most suitable definition: the nose is discreet as would be a basket of rose petals; on the palate, tannins are supple and there is a goodequilibrium between freshness, red fruit jam and tertiary flavours of tobacco/cedar Short finish To drink now and perhaps till 2026

Bottle directly from the cellar of Talbot. What a delicious and fully mature Talbot. Very open and perfumed nose of black fruit, cedar, and hints of earth. On the palate the wine had very dusty and integrated tannins and still with great acidity. Drink now and then next 5-8 years.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow": Pauillac and St. Julien (By me @ the factory): Beautiful bouquet with dark berries, laurel, truffle, cigar box and some stable smells. On the palate juicy dark berries, cocoa, laurel, coffee, good acidity and soft, round tannin. Fully mature and delicious now.
