Gong Hey Fatt Choy! Chinese New Years eve, reunion dinner with my brothers and family, joined by my mum too.
Strawberry aromatics on nose with underlying creamy oak, evolving to cherry too.
Full bodied Pinot, light minerality on the palate. Lightly grippy tannins, acidity M.
100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Mt.Harlan AVA region of California. Aged in French oak barrels for 16 months, and has all the hallmarks of an ageworthy Pinot.
2018 was a fantastic growing season. Medium length finish, with white pepper on the back palate. 🇲🇾 Fish Market, Mont Kiara

Very strong Pinot Noir and still very tight. Needs more time. More dark fruits than red. High altitude with 25 year old vines. Loads of structure but really did need a good decant. Score potentially would be higher and maybe with time it will show better.

Wow! Love the nose on this. Medium ruby in color. Aromas of baking spice, darker red fruit. On the tongue I taste a bit of clove and it has a bit of that clove numbing effect. Very smooth with a nice mouthwatering acidity.

medium ruby colour and medium body in the glass. a bright, floral and perfumed nose with rose petals and whiffs of violets amid the sous-bois and fresh red berries. in the mouth the fruit trends a little darker, but accented by fresh pomegranate, rhubarb, herbs and nutmeg. a strong tannic backbone is an equal match to the concentrated fruit and its bright acidity, which lingers thru the finish.
there is very good balance and a lot of energy in this wine; but i do think a couple more years of rest will let the elements integrate even more.
14.7% AbV (carried rather well); 100% whole cluster; eighteen month in french oak (30% new)

Mount Harlan Estate tasting at Calera (Hollister): from the highest-elevation vineyard in the estate.
