d'Angerville dinner at Daniel 10/19/2011 (Daniel): Wow! color deep ruby, barely bricking, unbelievable, really. Massive, explosive nose, deeply gutty, iron, leather, like a battle for Sparta. Huge balance, tannic and young (!). This wine seems another 20 years from ready to my (admittedly tiring) palate. Shocking. I preferred the Ducs for its impossibly serene balance, but Guillaume jumped up and saluted this wine in rapture -- his WOTN and he made a persuasive case! Another treasure!

d'Angerville Dinner at Daniel w Guillaume d'Angerville (Restaurant Daniel): Big nose - pure. Blood and coffee, almost salty. Really 'extracted'. Huge perfume on this - I could smell it for hours. Meaty and earthy on the palate, with plummy fruit. Huge and salty with extract. Lots of backbone and acid here. Not as full as the 64 Ducs, or complex, but really pure. A long, elegant coffee finish. Nose - 6/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 2/2 = 18/20.

Le Cinq Legends Dinner 2018 (Le Cinq Restaurant, George Cinq Four Seasons, Paris): Others liked this much better than I did. The wine had noticeably less body compared to the others in the red Burg flight. Flavors were very subtle.
