  • Tasted over 2 hrs
    -nearly semi-translucent med dark red
    -lifted candied raspberry red fruit
-med+ acidity give excellent lift to the otherwise silky texture, med/med- weight fruit is a little darker on palate than the nose with black cherry liqueur good intensity if not a lot of complexity, finishes with a medicinal note and med/med- tannins
-quite good, squarely on mature plateau but no hurry

  • Some green pine on the nose, but nice cranberry and orange peel on the palate. Enjoyable, but not incredible.

  • Pretty red fruits, florals, and some cooling basil- herbal tones. No green meanies of note. Supple and round, with more red fruits, tilled earth, and moss. Sappy and mid weighted with good acidity, but a little clipped on the back end. Graceful with a softness and finesse. Overall, a pretty, understated wine. Pretty. Long on the back end with nice florals, pastille fruit and florals, with cooling mossy tones. Drinking well now and I can't see a reason to hold.

  • I really like Bertheau's wines, but this particular wine is again underwhelming. A fair bit of green on both nose and palate, and it's lacking depth, though there is some nice red fruit in there. On day 2 it starts off with raspberry jelly aromas, along with some earth and a bit of green. The palate is okay, but doesn't have any real interest. I don't see anything which would suggest further improvement.

  • Acids have tamed down compared to my review of this chambolle in 2014. I still detect some unripe green tones in both the nose and taste but it is not obstructive and in the background. This wine is well balanced and reflective of the uneven 2011 vintage. This wine is fairly light body and lacks the depth of fruit and flavor of 2010 and 2015 vintages for example but is still a fine drinker for what it is. Mostly red fruits with some very light tannins and acid on the finish. Drinking fine now & I suspect it might improve slightly in the future. I would enjoy now to 2021. Drink Up.
