Jon's 50th Birthday Party: PnP. From mag. Natural cork. Extremely closed at first, but finally started to open up after 30 min. Latent power and depth, although still very coiled even with air. Hold for a few more years.

While still limpid and elegant it is now a bit too slight. Two tasters detected a bit of an off note at the very end of the finish which to them indicated the wine was tiring. To me it’s fraying a bit but still fairly strong. Yet previous bottles were better.

Leflaive Bâtard-Montrachet. Twenty eleven. A great combination. That ineffable Leflaive perfume of oats, citrus and green apple. Bâtard grapes give it weight and volume. And 2011 lends its slightly softness and elegance. Shows better when well chilled to preserve its focus. Clearly at peak; drink up.

Wonderful! Still young, but insane concentration and power. Top notch

Excellent - more refined than last bottle. Hints of exotic evolution in a good way. Quite big.
