Community Tasting Notes (47) Avg Score: 92.1 points

  • Cellar Tracker: B1.5+L2+I2+C2=7.5/8. 93. Deep garnet. Pronounced aroma. Good structure. Prevalent notes of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, plum) and red fruits (raspberry, ripe strawberry). Geranium. Bell pepper, liquorice. Presence of oak (cloves, cinnamon, chocolate, roasted wood). Some tertiary notes (caramel, mushroom and tobacco). Full-boded, harmonious, opulent. Decanted for 3 hours. The tannins are fine and resolved. Thick and concentrated. Still developing. Good wine. Paired very well with iron pan-fried wagyu.

  • Revisited almost four years down the line.
    Deep garnet.
Prunes, brambles, blackberries on the nose.
Couldn’t find much primary left on the palate. Leather, cedar, game present.
    Medium/full bodied, well balanced.
I followed the JA advice to decant 4+ hours before drinking the wine (at this stage in its development) but still couldn’t go to her 94 for this wine!
It will be interesting to see how it evolves further over the next 5-10 years.

  • Still youthful and only entering its drinking window. Decanted 3 hours. Notes of vanilla, cassis, black fruits, spices and toast. Medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin. Tannin is fine. Long finish. Will improve with time.
