Old, historic firm. Smells and tastes great. Catching it was some baby fit on it. Stainless and cement fermentation. Lots of high tonned orange zest. Follows through with 2009 - meaning its open and expressive now, gives it clean up

An average bottle of Barolo, complete with a full priced Barolo price tag. Very light bodied and more akin to a Barbaresco. Tannins are full. Fruit flavor is thin and overall concentration is severely lacking for a Barolo. Typical notes of tar, wood, leather and earth are more difficult to pull out of this wine. Medium length. Did improve over the course of a full afternoon and evening of decanting. The remaining glass on the following day had turned.

The Dirty Dozen Tasting 2013 (Il Botaccio, London): Herbal-tinged aromas with some tobacco and licorice. Impression of dried fruit on the palate. Very structured with firm backbone but mouthwatering finish. Wait. 17+/20. 2016+

On a lighter Barolo side, yet pretty complex. Brick red, flowery scent, bitterish.
