  • Fabulous. Drank with Thai food. Showing some age but still with energy

this was sooo nice to drink. mouthwatering af with an overwhelming complexity of ripe, but not super-ripe exotic fruits mixed up with lime and green apple aromas.

I 100% prefer Mosel sweet wines over Sauternes lately because of the higher freshness of the Mosel wines.

    - Nose: intense, fruity but also matured aromas of apricot, quince and light honey. Beautifully integrated slate. Extremely complex.
    - Palate: wonderfully nice to drink with crisp acidity (medium +) and a broad range of flavours and persistent long finish. Compared to the Fritz Haag Auslese 1997 drunk the day before yesterday, the J.J. Prüm shows more complexity here. Fritz Haag was a little fresher and with even more citrus fruit. The analogy arose that Prüm is more the stag and F. Haag the young deer. I also like the Graacher Himmelreich Auslese better than the Goldkapsel of the same name. The latter has more sweetness and in this vintage, I feel that the Goldkapsel lacks a bit of freshness / balance.

  • Golden yellow. Ripe orchard and citrus fruits and spice aromas. Similar on the palate with really nice minerals that set in. Very nicely balanced. Has ripe fruits but in no way too sweet and it's all offset by very nice acids. Nice finish. The only knock on this that it was a bit hollow in the midpalate. Not the most complex wine but delicious and enjoyable.
