Perfect time to drink. Tertiary and fruit. Maraschino cherries, fruit leather and couch leathet. Beautiful color. Maybe 2 more years, but wouldn’t wait. It’s proof you don’t have to spend a fortune for a world class wine that can age, but doesn’t need to.

Very Good++/Excellent. This is open for business on PnP and showing some tertiary character. Dusty earth, dark cherry, sweet herbs, some savory elements. Nice pairing with pasta with a short rib red sauce and nice to slowly sip on w/o food. Really classic, a rustic elegance. Not showy.
For perfectly stored bottles I think the community window to 2030 works, but for those of use with very good, but not ideal 55F conditions, it seems a bit aggressive. With some of my bottles spending time in the low-mid-60sF seasonally, I pulled in the drinking window to 2026.
A very nice buy under $20.

An exceptional $20 chianti. Lively but balanced acidity, dark fruits and spice, some bit of menthol on the nose. Exceptional mouth feel and a lengthy finish.

Drinking very well, with hedgerow on the nose, lovely smooth cherry fruit, a touch of spice, silky texture and a tangy herby finish.

In a pretty sweet spot for my taste. Or maybe more accurately a pretty savory spot. Salty, meaty, leathery. Squirt of acid. A right good Chianti.
