Color is a shade darker than Coors light, like light olive oil, some cloudiness. Nose is complex with Sherry, oxidized white wine, mushroom, umami, nuttiness, brown butter. Some effervescence, fairly strong acidity, the Sherry notes very much carry over, palate got creamier as it opened up, a creamy vanilla comes in, and there is a slight bitter nutty note on the finish. Compared to a 1983 Veuve Clicquot Carte D’Or opened a week ago, lacking some body, but still delicious. Opened up beautifully in the glass, I think with the next bottle I will decant for a half hour. Great pairing with Omakase, the flavors went superbly with the fattiness and smokey flavors in the fish.

Stunning gold with layers and layers of depth. Everything you want in a vintage champagne. Lees and honeyed toast with a lingering finish that goes on and on.

Beautiful gold, rich taste. Tasted after V-C Privee 1989. No comparison. Long lasting, delicious wine with tiny bubbles. Honey and truffle reminiscent of aged, oxidized champagne.

Gold color. Retains good small bubbles. Butterscotch yeasty bouquet and flavor with balanced fruit and acidity. Very refreshing, long finish. Very “British” style at this point though surprisingly fresh for its age. This is the “Presige Cuvée” of Pommery.

not blind, from Magnum
A bit too aged, vanille, honey and roasted nuts, still mousseaux. Could be fresher especially from this format. 92
