Decanted for an hour over dinner at Carbonne. Felt it needed more time to soften. Quite a bold wine for a Pauillac. Just had a younger Pichon same week and that went down much better. Needs more time before I open the next one.

J brought this bootle to the fathers' gathering in CNY. At first, we all thought this bottle was ruined by the improper cork, light palate and structure, shy nose, not a BDX character. But after two hours decanting, it came to live, but not impressed as other wines.

Ready to go, the wine is gorgeous, and elegant, striving to be an opulent expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. Soft, fresh, fruity, earthy, spicy and really at the top of its game, drink from 2023-2033.

Beautiful deep ruby. Nose of cherry chocolate and vanilla. Incredible balance, dark fruits some leather. Breathtaking wine with a long finish of leather and tobacco.

Drank way too young. This wine needs time. Expected more depth and Mouton-ness. Perhaps will come around with more decant time. Aroma was not particularly intense (shy); but more cranberry to cherry spectrum at this time. Thought the tannins were a bit too rough. I’d give it another 2 to 4 years.
