Phenomenal mature Dunn. From a magnum this was drinking exceptionally well. Resolved tannins, tertiary flavors bit still has dark red fruit. Very long finish.

Opaque ruby color, singularly dark dark plum nose. Not rich or oaky, showing perfectly balanced black fruit and a refreshing touch of green tannins. I'm drinking these now, but plenty of life left to suit your taste/purpose over the next 5 yrs.

Wine shows no visible age at all - deep red, no bricking at all. Nose actually doesn't show much. A little fruit and earth. The palate, though, is terrific. A mix of blackberry with some red fruit and even some fresh, tart acidity. This nearly 20 year old wine is still in its prime and even shows some young notes! I swear, this almost tastes like a Kosta Browne Pinot Noir, which I was not expecting at all.
I had the 2003 Howell Mountain last year, and it was deeper with significantly more blackberry and no notable acidity. It was definitely superior to this, but I'm extremely pleased with this wine. It has years to go - at least a decade.
