Not bad at all but perhaps unremarkable. Not overly oaky - almost in-Chardonnay like. Quite crisp. Of the Gaja whites I’ve tried the sauv blanc was a mile ahead as far as memory serves

At Coco Pazzo in Chicago, great list of Italian wines, most are on the young side (and expensive), but very extensive. First experience with Gaja Chardonnay. Was served slightly chilled, PnP.
Light gold/straw color. Crisp palate of mineral, citrus, white flowers. Very lean style chardonnay, great as a first wine or aperitif. Evolved nicely in the glass over 30 minutes as it opened and warmed. Some nuance to this wine, serving it too cold will hold back the flavor

Lime, green apple, vanilla, lime zest and apricot on the nose alongside some green and tropical scents. Medium-bodied with remarkable purity and brightness of fruit, balancing acidity and excellent length. Still youthful, will bemnefit from a couple of years in the cellar.
