Finally a Howell Mtn wine other than Aloft, Arkenstone, some years of Dunn, and Summit Lake that can keep up with Cimarossa. O'Shaughnessy and Cade are good but just lack something. Many others profess the fruit of the mountain but just don't have the density or complexity. And trust me, the 2007-2012 drink window is horrifically incorrect. Wine was uncorked to about 2mm bleed. Intact. Dark red stain, almost caramelized. Decanted 20 minutes before touching. This wine is HOWELL MOUNTAIN - lots of blueberry, vanilla, age, coriander, on the nose. The wine on the palate is very well integrated. Blackberry, blueberry, allspice, oregano and a hint of vanilla tip the front, and carries nicely throughout the mid-palate. This is a medium to full bodied wine that finishes with a velvet curtain of blueberry and age, some allspice. No oak. This wine is on the top of its game right now and probably has about 3-4 years left. BUT, I do recommend that you start drinking this one now especially if you have multiple bottles. I think it's going to start needing a little CPR in 2 years. I would highly recommend this wine if you are looking for the TRUE embodiment of Howell Mountain.

Dark fruit, layered spice, some minerality, fine pepper and eucalyptus. Smokey oak. The tannins are well integrated. It had nice length on the finish.
