Four hour decant, this could use several hours more air time. The nose is a wonderful blend of tar and roses with underbrush in the mix. The palate is strong with angular, grippy tannins that dry the tongue out heavily, this has big tannic structure. Cherry and roses are present, the tannins make it a little harder to track. This is in angular point in its development, needing several more years of cellar time to develop further complexity and allow the tannins to calm further.

Pretty nice and easy drinking at this point. Took a little bit of time to coax the flavors out but I didn't decant. Just popped and drank. Overall I prefer 2011 over 2012 in this wine. In the future I will probably forgo the Reserva. Not worth the $50+ price tag imho but it was fun to try it.

Concentrated strawberry and raspberry cordial dominate the impression initially but then a light footed but still very forward acidity appear. This results in accessible and easy to like Nebbiolo that still has some depth

Choclate, dark cherries, plums, sous bois, some fortified wine in the nose. No menthol. Tannins a little weak, acid is okay, some fungus and then the usual cherry. Nose more interesting than taste which lasts a little shorter than expected.
