Tart, assertive currant, pie cherry, black raspberry, hint of bay leaf with fine grained tannins and racy acidity. Fruit is trending more red and maybe more tart as this ages. I offered to a guest who brought a $11 Hahn Pinot and I think this Chinon was too edgy for her. Good in small amounts for sipping but better with food that has a bit of fat, like cheese.

Russk. Marido brought to CDC at Villagio. A WOTN. Called blind as a Chinon from 2014 to 2017. Firm. Get some, but not the little brother from the same producer with the rose in the label.

Watermelon and underripe strawberry, bell pepper. M/M+ acid, M- tannins (decent grip), M- body, good mouthfeel. Pretty typical Chinon, not very complex but well built. Drinking well now and with some years left, I kinda wish I had waited a few years longer to open. 6.2-6.3/10

Chilled to 60°. Vegetal and raspberry on the nose. Dry leaves on the palate. Mild acidity and tannins. Soft mouth feel.
