  Deep ruby red in color with slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & blueberries with overtones of spice notes of cloves & cinnamon, earthy/dusty, cola & just a hint of vanilla in the background. Medium to medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & cranberries with spices, cherry cola, herbs & a slight hint of vanilla. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present but at 12 years of age, it is at or quite close to its peak of development although it may hold onto its current plateau for a few more years if cellared properly. However, I doubt any further development would occur.

  Opens great, then maybe a bit (but only a bit) less so, with the acid on the length a bit distracting.

  Tonight the wine opened nicely after a few minutes, and then tarted out and became less. Optimum drinking is therefore between minutes 10 and 30.
