Intense fruit bouquet (apricot and vanilla) on the nose, very clear, on the palate: pleasent acidity, not too sweet, bit peppery, apricot, quince and peach, nice sauterne!

14% alcohol. Cork of moderate length, with little wine penetration. Beautiful light amber colour, not unlike that of a young Cognac. Muted aromas of quince with some polishing wax. The mouth is much better, with more quince and some pineapple; plenty of energy and excellent acidity in the finish. Not overly sweet at this stage, and easy to drink as a result, possibly too easy...

14% alcohol. Good dense cork of average length. Beautiful golden colour. The nose is quite subdued, bordering on inexpressive. Fortunately the mouth is much better, with yellow fruit flavours and some caramel in the finish, which is light-footed and lively; no chaptalisation here, I would venture. Nothing cloying about this Barsac, but not terribly intense either. Still very pleasurable. I am not sure about repeat purchases, as my allegiance has tended to shift to the Loire where liquoreux are concerned.

Drinking well, showing about middle/secondary development. Smells great with an expressive, even sophisticated bouquet. The palate is a step down, appearing simple, a little low in acid and lacking much of a finish. Still, quite nice for mid week dessert, would go better with cheese than sweets. Drink now or over the next decade.

Orange marmalade. Cool airy with good midpalate persistence with really nice balance. Good freshness and energy. Delicious. So good.
