This pours deep gold in the glass. The nose is of candied lemon, cheese rind, white mushroom, apricot, and saffron. The palate enters on the lovely apricot and candied lemon notes sugar is still quite apparent feeling like 100 - 150 g/l with medium plus acid. The finish shows nice apricot and florals but also replays the cheese rind note.

Tasted blind and only the saffron on the nose hinted at a Sauternes or should I say Barsac which was the Appellation at the time. Not a whole lot of sweetness left and lightish body - more of historical value than anything else...
