Showing it's age now. The Genesis does not seem to evolve well. Unlike the '09 this is still drinkable, just be aware the tertiary flavours are starting to dominate and the fruit is fading

Definitely improving with age. Very much the shape of a Victorian shiraz, and therefore not to everyone's taste. But the years have been kind here. Wines like this need age. Time allows the elements to find a harmony, and that is what has happened with this wine (bottle).

I kind of agree with my last note. But this bottle was more in balance. The fruit was much more intense than the last. Still black cherries, and that typical cool climate earthiness, but there is enough power and intensity to lift it above the last bottle. I flip flop on cool climate shiraz, sometimes I can recognise the opportunity, sometimes I am underwhelmed by the taste profile. Whilst this bottle has not 'blown my socks off', there is enough there to persuade me to wait a couple of years before the next.

This was like a super intense Pinot. Black cherries on the nose and the palate, along with an earthiness. Quite interesting but not really in balance for me.
