  • Bought and drank in a restaurant. Had a sip after 1.5 hour bottle decant, decided to keep bottle decant for 1+ hour more, instead of decanter, already adequate. Typical Barolo on nose, still tannic but acceptable. Medium to medium plus intensity on nose and palate, medium finish. Can be better given the price point (>200 USD).

  • Lunch at Noizé: Mid ruby tending to full garnet. A lot more youthful with good fruit in a mildly structural frame. Another gorgeous wine with such a strong familial resemblance to the 04 and 01. *****

  • (Tasted unblind) black cherry, tar, rose comes out more with a bit of air. Really classic Barolo, with a bit more density of fruit. High acid but not the searing high that you sometimes get in Barolo. A bitter herbal edge to the finish. Still feels very fresh and youthful, likely has many more good years ahead. Paired well with a lamb neck ragu.

  • decanted for 4 hours. dark garnet in color. a fairly muted nose of cherry and rose. on the palate, the wine shows sweet cherry, raspberry and strawberry. the tannins are somewhat resolved and the acidity is still quite high. linear across the palate with a long finish. wonderful mouthfeel and phenolic ripeness. drinking beautifully but surprisingly still primary. not a lot of secondary characteristics at this point which was somewhat disappointing. if you have any of this, give it another 5 to 10 years before you open the bottle.

  • Decanted for half an hour. Really opened in the glass to a powerful yet elegant and intense wall of sweet cherry, strawberry, leather, menthol. Near-monolithic and intensely long finish. After another hour some hints of age emerge but this remained bright and youthful but still drinkable. Beautiful pairing to homemade mushroom and truffle risotto. Drink now with air or hold. 94+/100
