  • Rustic? Maybe, but lush dark amarena cherry fruit and still pert acids. I agree with a meaty-coffee-chocolate thing here, but this is delicious. Notes of amaro/orange bitters, and a really long finish. 100% (?) Magliocco, fermented in steel and aged 12 month in Allier barriques, 6 months further in bottle. We’ve had a few and I’m sad this was the last. Fun, full character wine from Calabria.

  • Meaty black cherries and acidity of red fruit.
Agree with avp's notes, even 12 months down the road.

  • Ruby red.
Rustic nose with bitter cherry and ripe strawberry notes. Strong meaty presence and a good deal of mocha oak: coffee beans and chocolate.
Medium bodied and meaty palate with smooth tannins and mid-level acidity. There's really not a whole lot of anything particular on the palate, but there's still perfect balance and decent complexity as well. Velvety and toasty mid-length finish.
A rather nice young wine with oak only starting to integrate. Still a shitload of fun!
