This seemed in a slightly awkward phase, as well as showing more VA than I'd expect as well as a touch of brett. Overall not a good experience this time (NR)

Very elegant and mid-weight, garnet with slight bricking. Cherry, strawberry, wood, vanilla, hint of tobacco. A complete contrast to, say, an Ardanza. I'm guessing if this had Bourgogne Premier Cru on the label nobody would have complained if they'd paid double or treble the price for it.
Could live (maybe improve) for years, if not decades..

Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano. Plummy, spicy, lovely hint of vanilla, excellent freshness and balance, lovely length, classic Rioja. Excellent QPR.

Fantastic, classical old school Rioja.

Classic Rioja reserva with flavorful cherry and spice. Very long finish.

This struck me as a bit tougher and more focused than the '04. One to put away for a few more years.
