Deep red center, red rim with modest signs of age. Classic Tempranillo cassis nose, plums, touch of coconut, oak and dill. Cassis and plums, oak, creamy, toasted coconut, dill and something spicy, good acidity and some tannin, smooth overall, alcohol in check (13.5%), good balance and long finish. This is very classic Rioja for me (something you'd put in a tasting class to represent Tempranillo), dinking well now but has time to go.

Medium-dark lava color. Served at cellar temperature, this was extremely restrained on the nose. With a little bit of air, this started to evolve some vaguely red berry aromas, with a subtle minerality. This has no concentration on the palate, with dilute red and black fruit flavors. There's a youthful energy due to relatively high acid, and some stoniness throughout, but in total this is a forgettable quaffer most suitable for washing down a hearty, rustic meal. I bought this off a wine list on the strength of Cune's reputation. The miniscule C.V.N.E. logo on the back label is a proportionate demonstration of how much this resembles their Imperial wines.

As before, but a little muted. Some bottle variation?

Seems a bit simple and 'drink now.' nice enough, but not exciting.

True rioja. Dusty tannins and sour carries. Tasted a bit hot at first but good overall balance. Good solid effort. Would buy again
