Nose: maltose, hints of flint, jack fruit, stone fruit, caramel, lemon custard, mint, white flower Notes: quite a bit of salinity upon opening. Still in excellent color, this wine takes around 1 hour to get ready and the signature Ramonet Nose starts to show. In the beginning there was quite a disturbing minty nose but that started to fade after 30 minutes of breathing and the wine became quite well integrated. This wine shows a medium to full body but it wasn't as heavy as I anticipated. Good intensity in the wine despite coming from a rather atypical hot vintage. Enjoyable drink but certainly can't compare to the great vintages. Drink: now+ Rating: 91

Not a lot to add to previous note. Still just okay, maybe a tiny bit better than that but nowhere near its pedigree might promise. Lots of pineapple and banana gummy bears, some green apple acidity. Undernotes of vanilla and... lavender? Maybe this wine actually needs *more* time to resolve. There seems to be some underlying complexity; maybe the glycerin content this time is a little more lush than last time around. More an intellectual exercise than a delicious beverage, but at least it’s becoming more interesting, if not much more delicious.

A great wine - already on the nose you fell some thing is going on - so much minerality - and I think some bacon - clearly some butter - I also sense some Honey - the fruit is citrus and apple. What makes this a great wine - is the integration - perfect balance.

I'm definitely done buying high end white burgundies to cellar. They should age well, but they don't. This bottle was not gone, and had all the required elements to be just fine, but it was not special. A little more acidity than required, a little less raciness. Lemony. Like a bigger 1er cru Chablis. Some shine, but not a lot of body or bounce. Like, not love. Sad.

P&P'ed. Seemed rather cloudy but a nice light lemon color. Very round and delicious but was definitely missing that cut needed to make it a great wine. Finished bottle quickly but was not worth the price of admission.
