Slight hint of cork taint? Cork was in perfect condition. Garnet red with brown hue. Not much fruit on the palate, earthy, tar, leather, acid levels ok, really needs a saucy pasta.

Basically stored in a refrigerator since acquisition upon release. Alive and well. Beautiful red fruit, the Slavonian oak note shows through in a good way - not the old Slavonian oak cruddy note. Well made, but a bit lacking in length.

Opened this up last night to pair with a rigatoni dish with tomato sauce and chicken. First blush revealed a lovely nose and a pleasant fruit filled taste. Some oak was noticable and, surprisingly, still some tannins. About a half hour later though the fruit was going and the tannins were none existent. Overall somewhat disappointing, especially for a Riserva designated wine. I think I'll stick with the LeVolte in the future.
