in 2010 I bought 12 of 2006 tasted now..well colud develop but its rather more lean than 2006.. checked the label - exactly - 2005. Sold me some of 2005 in the case. colour rather cloudy and dark. nose: really great - the one I like - sweet cheries with tobbaco and ash, some burnt wood - fresh. The nose realy defines this bottle. taste: very good accidity, medium bodied, long and a little bit burning finish. Unstroned cherries, woody tannins - quiteb visible. Wine needs food. will act great as an accompaniamt to roast lamb. At the end finish becoming a little bit watery. Classic but lacks a little bit of something as for riserva, anyway very good stuff.

The bottle was probably past its prime or it had leaked...

Dark red. Lots of cherry, earth and vanilla in the nose. Nice medium wieght fruit and a very acid finish with decent tannins. Really nice.

An edgy and slightly harsh chianti with a strong personality, high acidity and long finishing tannins - needs decanting for a few hours to appreciate.
