Purchased from HDH for a third of the current retail price. Only bottle and opened with friends who appreciate wine. Did not decant. Brilliant garnet color throughout. The nose was subtle cocoa and dried red fruit. The palate was medium-bodied with fully integrated tannins and red plums that kept the wine fresh. Great wine for sure but was somehow expecting more depth and intensity. Is it worth $500/btl now? No.
Decanted for one hour. It probably should have a longer decanting time. The nose had dried red fruit, truffle, and some citrus in a musky way. Palate released more power as the wine grew in the glass. The intensity of the wine was lovely with long length. This is very pretty. Should have decanted this for at least 3 hours before serving. 93-94

Decanted an hour, color is deep red, very structured nose, very bdx, just less complex compared to Clinet 89 which is really a kaleideoscope, but not far behind, sturdy and no sign of falling off, a gorgeous wine by itself.

100%-Merlot themed dinner (The American Club): Talking about "saving the best for last"... Our sommelier did just that for this final blind pairing of the night. Cedar, plums, ink on the nose; This still tasted pretty young on the palate, but with everything well resolved, polished and balanced. Leather, coffee, earth... and a long finish. This was perfect with the Florentine steak! Our Group's joint 2nd-WOTN along with the Galatrona...

Fantastic! Well balanced and perfectly aged Italian. Still holding up beautifully with life left in the bottle.
